Just wanted to say Hello to everyone. I know a few of you, but I see alot of names I don't recognize. I shall enjoy getting to know all of you.
My husband and I lost our beloved B&G Macaw, Eephus, to a tragic accident on Tuesday. It's been a rough week, to say the least. We're heartbroken.
We're looking for another birdie to help fill the emptiness, and (possibly) going down to Virginia Sunday to met a 10 month old B&G whose current people have realized they don't have time for him/her. The situation seems a bit .... off, so we're still deciding whether or not we'll go.
At any rate - we'll be bringing home someone, sometime soon. Eephus was our first, and was with us for 2 and half years.
Ok. Looking forward to meeting everyone !
Hi Sharon! :wavey: Bill mentioned he invited you. I am happy you have joined us. I am so sorry to hear about Eephus. :tighthug:

Good Luck!
Hi Sharon! I am so glad you came over to be with us! Again, I am so sorry to hear of your loss! It takes a long time to get through a loss like you have experienced...give yourself plenty of time to grieve.
I know you will love it here and you will make great friends here!
Take care! Lots of hugs to you!
Hi Sharon, Great name.... (my wife is a Sharon also). So sorry to hear about Eephus. I can't even imagine what I would do in a situation like.
Looking forward to hearing your stories and getting to know you.

I am so very sorry for your loss, and I remember your posts of Eephus well, but am hazy on the details... I am so glad you chose to join us.
When we lose a loved one, the grief we feel also brings a huge capacity for love ... and the new one to care for will be a very fortunate birdie to have you for parents. You may not have to go so far... birdies in need are often right around the corner...

WELCOME Sharon,
It is nice to have you here. I am sure you are going to like it here.
I am so sorry to hear about Eephus. I remember your posts and the beautiful pictures of him. I knew he was sick for awhile but I can't remember what it was. I know they were having a hard time finding out what it was.
I know what you are going through and Bill it right it will take a long time to get over.

So true! I don''t think you ever get over it, you just learn to accept it and go on. For us, we hurt so much we knew we needed another bird, not to take Bart's place but, to share our love with another bird. Our heart and home was so lonesome with out a bird in it. Getting Elvie did help us heal a lot faster.
These beautiful feathered companions are so important in our life. I believe, it was meant for some of us to share our like with them.

Hiya Marion and BN ! It's so good to "see" you both .... sure have missed you.
It was one of the really bad days when I posted my intro .... so I guess I'll tell everyone a little more about me. I'm from Ohio - born and raised in Sandusky - so I'm a roller-coaster/thrill ride fanatic. I love the outdoors, love to read, I'm a Law&Order junkie, and I love watching sports. I work in a little family owned pet shop where we breed and raise the puppies we sell. I absolutely love all animals - and I'm a dog fanatic.
I have two doggies - Blackie, 11 year old cocker/yorkie mix, Dutch, 8 year old bassett hound mix, and a one-eyed tabby cat named Lizzie who's 10. (gosh, when did my babies start getting old???) And of course, Roxie, our brand new B&G Macaw. We have no human children, so these are our babies.
So, there's a little about me. I tend to be a bit shy until I get to know ya - but once I do, I'm a bit of a goofball .... I often say I'm 33 going on 10

:lol_hit: <--- that's the strangest smilie I've seen yet! And, I have to admit, the doggies are sometimes easier to deal with than Greg.
Jim - we must be almost neighbors - I'm about 20 miles southwest of Lima ...
That's the Sharon I know and love!

Hi Sharon,
I am glad you join the forums. I am truly sorry about your loss of Eephus. I knew how it feels like. In the past, my family lost a few pets and we still miss them so dearly. Jean was so right about what she said above.

SHARON!!!!!!! I just read about Eephus. I am just so upset about this. I happened to be on the other board and read about it yesterday. I just sat there and cried. And of course it brought back memories of Millie. But I wanted to tell you how sorry I was. I tried to send you a personal message and it said I couldn't. I had a feeling I might find you here. I am so glad you are here. And I am happy to hear about your new baby.
