I always do a lot of research reading about cockatoos. I would like to share this article with all of you. It is about the worlds largest parrot which is a Kakapo, it is a non flying cockatoo. They weigh up to 3 kg coverts to 225 grams or 6.5 lbs. I have also read they range up to 4 kg. Their are very few of their species left.

Very interesting...

Look at this... there are only 62 left in the wild in the world as of this writing:

Click on the left column: "Why they became endangered"

Wow that is so sad, they don't even realize that they are in danger. Poor birds!!:(

I have a large encylopedia of birds and there is a section about how they're trying to save the Kakapo. - I think it's this one - or the kea - I get the two mixed up - that is carnivorous and eat lambs and stuff - honest ;), I can't think where I read about it now.. In a book I guess..
