Hi, Just a quick note before I leave for three weeks on our African adventure. I put up the nest box on the Bourke's cage last week and today there is the first egg! These are the parents that raised two chicks from their first clutch earlier this year. I am hoping everything goes well with and for our bird sitter. Tune in again in three weeks and see what I find when I return - I have faith that my Bourke's know what to do without me looking over their shoulders. Wish me (and them) luck.

Hi,
Arrived home last night and saw one fuzzy chick and some eggs under a very upset hen. Today she is sitting so tightly and is very defensive so have not seen a thing in the nest. Suppose I should check the chick tomorrow just to be sure that it is being fed, but they have managed without me for three weeks so maybe they really prefer that I leave them alone.
