Not sure if i explained this to you all here at BoF, so i thought i would tell you about my "name".
My wife and i go to auctions, and i collect things like antique radios,or come to think of it , prob almost anything else LOL! My wife collects Snow White, especially Dopey collectables. She probably has the largest collection of Dopey things(i've heard all the "that's why she has you" jokes , trust me:funny: ) maybe in the country, if not the largest, she's in the top three IMO,,and we/she has a room dedicated to just her collection.I turned a bedroom into a special room for her collection, transforming a closet into a display unit(people that see it cannot believe it was a closet at one time)the walls and now the floor is filled with her collection.it ranges from most everything Disney put out from the beginning,to things available currently.Snow White "saved" Disney from ruin ,from the movie, and the marketing resulting from it.
Sorry to ramble, we also collect old furniture etc.some of which i "restored" for us in our home. we have a attached garage(too full to fit even a bicycle, let alone a vehicle, and a 3 1/2 car garage, and other than my 1965 Shelby GT-350 Mustang(i think it's somewhere in there) ,my 1952 restored Ford 8n tractor i use to mow our 10 acres here, a lot of it is filled with "stuff"(i want to be a fly on the wall for "my" auction ,when i depart this earth LOL) I partitioned one stall of the garage for my "workshop" to work on projects and such,,,
trust me , i'm getting to my "name" LOL
That explains the first 1/2 of my ID,,now to the second 1/2,,,
We have (currently) 4 mini-dachshunds,all adopted/rescued,the last two were a "couple" mother /son,boyfriend/girlfriend,,,we do not know,,what we found out was momma was 2-3 weeks preggie w/4 babies,,so for a while we had 8 doxies around the house for a while, til we found homes for them,,
i have 2 German Shepherds(the real dogs LOL) have adopted/owned 4-5 b4 now,and had had a good life while here. One of the ones i have was a rescue from a couple that could not handle him, (he slept with his head on my lap ,on the way home) they returned to my cousin's dog training business a month after i got "Bandit" ,and did not believe it was the same dog,in size, and they way he was trained,,,My latest Shepherd was a son of my other cousin's police K9 partner, who was owned by a local officer ,who's town force's K9 unit never materialized, so now the dog was a "burden" to the officer, being only a pet:doh: .Zeik is fully trained in police work, and very good at all aspects of it.when he was being looked at to be adopted out, i asked my wife, and she said "no more dogs",,but she saw my feelings in my eyes, and relented, and said,"Dakota's (my cousins partner)son would mean a lot to you, go ahead and bring him home".
We also have a few birds LOL, a MSC 'Too, i've had for over 25 yrs,"Sinbad",
a BFA "Gumby" which i've had for about 18 yrs,,and a few adopted/rescued birds also,,and don't forget "Coral" that neat lil guy i has lucky enuf to get from Shirley:wub: (Rosy Bourke grass parakeet)
we have (only) two saltwater aquariums, one 75 gallon reef tank, and a 180 fish only tank,,,

Junk-Zoo,,,,get it now? LOL

Sorry for the long process to explain this to you all, but now you know,,and i won't have to bore you with this all again LOL
This was needed to be said, incase anyone wondered the meaning behind my member ID

I love reading your history and how you got your name Junkzoo. I like it even more knowing how it came about! I love the dog stories too! If only everyone could have such a good time with theirs.

You sound like my only brother. Here is what he's constructing for his house and junk garage. He collects everything from antique cars to antique everything. His new house will be inside 1/5 of the garage space. He is putting in cherry wood flooring with many wxtras. It will have 6" insullated walls within the perimiter. It will be on one end and be 1,700 sq ft. So you can imagine how huge this will be. He's just getting it up.
