I have others but kinda pressed for time right now.
Jim
what a very special 4thy of July treat!   They are spectacular!!!
:thanx: Jim!
Whoa!
OK silly question -- do they not make a mess in the house? All my birds are clipped - because of the danger of them making an unexpected exit when the door is open... they have playpens etc. and are out most of the time - but with flying around do they return to their cages to potty?
Awesome wingspans - great shots!
When Shirley visited with her birds, we got a flight demonstration... that was great to see too!

Jenn, did not Shirley demonstrate the way she has her birds on command "potty broken"?it still amazes me how she can do that with her birds,,,
Me, i just mentally will my birds to raise their tail ,and 'voila!(only it's over a spot i don't want it to happen on,,,,LOL)
Jim, thanks for the great pics, only thing better to see are wild macaws/'Too's flying wild, my sister went to Australia a few years back ,and said it was something to see,,,all the 'Toos flying around ,in flocks,,,,chewing on peoples houses,,etc, etc,, She did go to a santuary to watch them in the "wild" also,,,,
Also , seeing your birds in flight, reminded me of a guy i saw on tv once, he was a "trainer" or the likes, and had umpteen birds,,and lived high above his neighbors,,he would release his macaws outside, they would soar downward to the other neighbors, visit a while and fly back to him, it was something to see,,,,,

Hi Jenn
They fly to one of there perchs to potty. They're about 98% good about it.
All the best
Jim
Thanks Niel
What type birds do you have?
All the best
Jim
My conures prefer not to potty on me - if I'm astute at it, I will place them on their stand or cage for them to 'go' about every 10 mins or so. I just wondered what they'd do if they were flying about.
Shirley's birds are excellent for pottying on cue but Holly had a whoopsie on me :funny:
On a good day I come home without a two-toned shirt but accidents happen ;)
Jenn
Hi Jeff
Thanks for the reply. I would love to see Macaws flying and living wild... maybe some day my dream will come true.
All the best

GINNY, The first time I saw these large birds fly in the house I was taken like you are. They are still breathtaking.

Jean,
Do you live near him and did you get to go over to his house and see them fly or are you talking abou the pictures?
No Ginny,I met him when I was on another board. I have only been fortunate enough to see his birds pics. Luckily, I had his contact info when we exchanged some emails. However, I'd love to see them fly in person someday.

Thank you again and again, Jim! I'm so glad you joined! And if you're ever up for company, next time Ginny visits us (she and her hubby and birds drove up from Florida last year)... we can make a Field Trip... it's not that far, Ginny, if it's the city I think it is... and same for you, Jean, when you come in September... and Jeff, you're just up the road a bit... so yeah, we need a big "heartland" BoF picnic! Dr. Cook would come and bring her flighted M2 Merlin!

AMAZING pics.
As you may know, most people in the UK leave their birds fully flighted - It's wonderful if you can they look so spectacular in flight. Bob is but the effect is not quite the same as with the bigger birds, plus it's hard to take photo in time!
WOW Jim , absolutely amazing pic's!!!
