Oh wow what great pictures. Your birds are beautiful. How old are they and how long have you had them? Sorry I am new and don't know about your birds.

Nino B/G is 4+ and Teo GW is 2+ both male. I think Nino was 97 days old when we brought him home. I'm not 100% sure on that, its was 4 years ago. <grin> I can remember Teo he was 76 days old.
I'm new too so your not the only one that wouldn't know.
Thanks for your reply

Jim,
Thank you for telling me about your family. They are wonderful and beautiful birds. I have had Amazons for years and now a MSC2 and then we got our B&G and I have never been around macaws before and they are so different then my other birds. I am still getting use to her. But I am finding out their bark is worse then their bite. She will let you know if she doesn't like something but unless you really push her she will not bite. She likes to fake me out because I will still pull away from her. Some times she will even laugh at me. She was on the porch one day and the lady next door walked over in the back yard and Taco yelled and my neighbor jumped and Taco started laughing at her.

I've found this too. Many years ago I used to visit with a pet store macaw every day on my way to work... "Carlos"... Carlos loved to fake people out (although sometimes he did bite people :( ) but when he'd scare them he'd mimic a human laugh and he really seemed to delight in "shock value". He'd also learned to mimic some bad words, and he really got a charge out of the shock value of dropping an f-bomb. They really are clever - and while we condition them to respond.... I think they learn to condition us too!
I'm still learning Harley's personality of course, but I see some similarities between his personality and Carlos'.

Amazing pic's. Jenn you're right about people who have never lived with birds.
One thing that get's me is the only thing they can think to say is "does it talk"

Oh oh and on a group I joined a lady said she keeps her greys out of sight of one another because she worries they will stop talking otherwise :o How mean! If you buy a parrot just for it to talk you aren't a fit parrot owner in my book.
Man!! some people..

I don't mind that people ask if they talk - some of mine do, some don't. Pepe swings upside down, she talks a bit - in front of you (Pepe is a conure). Her cage-mate, Woodstock, has a much larger vocabulary but won't talk in front of anyone - but I can have a "conversation" from across the room! They do have other unique personality traits, each one - and people do get to see that if they are interested enough to watch and learn.
Of course, people ask me questions all day - I do a lot of educating in my work at the aquarium shop - it's my job to answer questions so I guess I don't really mind all the bird quezzies too ;) If somebody leaves my shop with a bit more knowledge than they had when they came in - that's a good day!

Oh I love answering questions and could talk parrots all day - it's just this thing that people who don't know, think you'd only get a parrot because 'it talks' and I can't abide living things being referred to as 'it' either - (except human babies when you don't know the gender :roflmao2:
