Piper just turned 4 on March 7th.
I've had her since May of 2005.
She was my first parrot (gosh I feel like I'm repeating myself ;) ), although by the time I got her, my family had two other lovebirds and two African Greys.
Her breeder is a friend of my mom's.
This one day, that friend had wind that I was coming over with my mother (I wanted to see the babies) and she had the two that were left out of their cages when we arrived. They were sitting on her shoulders. When Piper saw me, she came to see me right away (flew over to me) and went right behind my ear and snuggled here and chirped softly. Which, of course, meant that I had to leave with her ;)
However I'm not her first "post breeder" home. See, Piper's clutched was not planned by the breeder. Her hen is a very stubborn thing (more stubborn than most lovebirds) and when she decided she wanted babies, she had babies. Regardless of the fact that there wasn't a proper nestbox for them..anyways, long story short, two of the three babies had mildly splayed legs. Piper is one of them. The breeder didn't feel right selling those two babies so she gave them away. The first family that had got Piper "lost" her in their house. Not quite sure how exactly, but they found her when she was very very weak. They brought her back to the breeder and the lady was sure that Piper was going to die..but she managed to keep her alive.
Piper is an adorable little thing. When I was still at my parents she played with their lovies (they all had separate cages), although she loved spending time on me (which means that I often had 3 lovebirds on me). She very rarely nips and she will readily go see just about anyone.
Yes "she" might be a "he" (not DNA'd), but I've grown used to saying "she" so "she" she will remain ;)
Some pictures..
Baby shot, sitting with my parents' creamino lovie (they almost form like a heart on this shot)

Most recent picture I have of her, it's when she turned 4 on the 7th of this month.
