:help: So I have noticed the past couple of days that BoBo's poop has been runnier than normal. I haven't changed his diet at all. and I don't see that there is any reason for him to be stressed.. I have been reading on the internet about it and i am starting to get really worried. I made him a Vet appt for friday but I am still kinda freaking out.. He is still acting normal. upbeat and talkative.. I have read that it can be a virus infection, stress, kidney disease, tumors, poisoning, and food allergies to name a few. My little man isn't even a year old yet! Any one had any issue with this before?? Any help or moral support would be great. Thanks

Have you been feeding him any fruit these couple of days?

It is good that you are having him checked out. I have seen a change in my birds' droppings just on days that they seemed to drink a little more water than usual... who knows why...:foot-tap: :) Please keep us posted. :)

well, I took him to the vet and she said everything looked normal. She said she thinks he got ahold of something that just upset his digestive system for a few days.. he is looking more solid today. He hadn't lost any weight. So it was nothing lol..

It is always a good thing to get it checked out. There are many factors that I have found that can cause loose poop in my birds ( I have three a 27 yr old Sunday Conure, a 7 month old B&G and a 5 month old GCC). I have noticed that if they drink a lot of water, any juice, that they get a bit runny. Also fruits will attribute to it as well, especially oranges. They love them but get the runs almost instantly. Also, if I give them a lot of peanuts it does the same thing. Now I am glad that you got your little one checked and it turned out to be nothing sever. He is adorable, and keep us updated for hatch days and such, it is fun to be a part of their lives (they own us not the other way around) :)

WOW! 27.. that is quite a while lol. I look forward to all the fun we will have lol.. Any special details to keep them that healthy.. I am getting ready to try and put him on a pellet diet.. already tried once but i didn't encourage it enough so we are gona give another wack at it and see how it goes.. 27 years i can't imagine where i will be in that time.. it would be cool to have him around that long.
I am Glad all seems to be o.k , yes always wise at the first sign of a change in poop or behaviour to get a vet to check your little guy out...BoBo looks like a sweetie...

If you are weening to a pellet diet, you could try mixing the pellets with the original food that you have him on, and gradually taking out the non pellet food. During the winter, I feed Oscar a mix of pet shop seed/pellets/nuts/and dried berries with his normal Harrison's pellet diet. This helps to keep a little extra weight on him during the cold months. I have a birdie hatch day party to plan, because Oscar is turning 28 on March 12, any suggestions? Is there anything that you can think of that would be like a birdie cake?
On the runny poo topic though, another thing that could attribute to it, is drinking juice. When Oscar drinks any of my fruit juice, he gets runny poo. He LOVES OJ and cranberry juice (also thinks that those two combined is his personal ambrosia) :)
