Do you keep a health and welness recors on your birds? I keep one on mine that lists his important information. When we trave we take it along with his first aid kit. Here is what information I keep record of . It only takes a little while to set up, then it's very easy to update.

Name
sex
age
microchip #
parents name "hubby and me"
address
phone #
Avian vet name, address, phone #
secondary avian vet, address, phone #
closest avian emergency care center, address, phone
write driving directions to vet's - if necessary
If you carry avian insurance a copy of the policy and policy # with contact information.

copies if his medical history and vet check records.

Your so organized ...Good Idea ..
I am still trying to get up the courage to take the boys for their well check-up ...its over due and I am rather scared , silly I know but I think if I go and something is wrong I won`t be able to cope ...There are no signs what so ever something is wrong with either of the boys so I know I am being silly and I need to take them , its just I have not been back since we had JJ put to sleep and I don`t know how I will re-act ..
I have to do it though its in my mind all the time ...

It's easy to understand your being reluctant. :tighthug: I felt sad at the thought of returning to the vet's to after we lost Bart. Try to remember what I did! This is a wellness check, it may make it a little easier. That welness checks can help
prevent some serious illness trips. Good Luck!

We have three area avian vets' info attached to main place in the kitchen where that sort of info is kept... and the vets have the rest... So the kids or anyone else can find the vets' names, numbers, addresses, etc.

Good idea Shirley, especially with as many birds as you have. Ours works great since we have traveled a lot with Elvie.
