Scotty, I thought of your Bourke's when I observed this new-to-me Bourke's behavior:

Spencer, proven accomplished male, is paired with a female who has no interest in him whatsoever. She's plenty old enough, and supposedly has had a clutch or two in the past.

Spencer has tried everything to woo her, including outright jumping on her back, a behavior she immediately disdained and chased him off.

The odd new behavior:

The other night I heard the familiar rapid quiet sound of peep-peep-peeping -- a female Bourke's trying to attract a male. I looked over at Spencer's cage and saw SPENCER with his tail up in the air, head down, wings a-flutter, peeping like a female. The female was sitting on a different perch, ignoring him completely!

So, I think you saw your male doing this one day... maybe they are trying to teach the ladies something???? :shrug2::funny:

Yes, a different hen -- one that is 12-18 mos old or one any age that is PROVEN.
