Going to give this a try! Every board is different! Maybe I'll be a dummy here! *grin*

This is a pic of our white eyed conure, Jeckyl, on the bird tree with Penny, our sun conure! They "almost" get along!

Next is a shot of all four quakers- from left to right:
Spanky, Kate, Chewie, and Wasabi. Wasabi is also a plucker. We have had her for almost 2 yrs. and have not cured the problem, but have alleviated it greatly.

Here's Chico, our little senegal! He is QUITE the talker! Loves his Daddy- Ken, but does NOT particularly like me at all!! Oh, but he LOVES for me to spend time talking to him, and sings BORN FREE if I ask!!

More to come!!

Thanks!

They are beautiful! I'd love to hear your Senegal talk and sing! We have a Senegal named Play-Doh.

What are you doing to help with your Quaker's plucking?

Lots of mistings and showers? Diet? Something else?

We go through this on occasion with our Rose-breasted...

Kim, Vicki & Greg's conure flew down to there fence, that was when they became bird parents. There's was another happy ending to a little lonely lost bird. We are all happy Bailey chose them as his parents.

Thank you ALL! How do I begin to answer all the questions?!! We just LOVE all these guys!! Yes, that is the bird tree Ken got me! The guys are really enjoying it now, but at first they thought it was a monster! *grin*

As for Wasabi and the plucking- thanks, Jean, she IS so much better! We DO mist with an aloe/water mixture, and also use a small amount of the red palm oil on pellets. I need to post pics of our new baby, Kato- we were told before we picked him up that he was a borderline plucker- well, he was a NAKED bird when we took him! Shocking!! He is MUCh better even after just a couple of weeks! Lots of toys that involve these birds- things to do and keep them busy- other things to tear up- they love the pinatas! and lots of attention. Wasabi will go for her checkup soon, and we are considering a collar . . . We didnt' want to go that route- Chewie had been a plucker at one point, and has never done it again! But it's a thought.

The quakers are just the dobermans of the bird world! They can be SO very sweet- we can pet and handle all of ours- and then BAM! They can be vicious and territorial! We just know this and that's the way it is!! I DO love how they all interact! It's funny that just recently Kate will sit on Spanky's cage with him, and they groom, but nothing more! I'm glad they seem so happy! Chewie would KILL anybody who came between he and Wasabi! *grin*

Our white eyed conure was part of a pair, and we lost Heckyl last year. We don't know what happened. She was just in the floor and dead. It has been tough getting over her loss, but the best thing is that Jeckyl has really come out of his shell! He is friendly where he used to be stand-offish, and is even talking now, where before he didn't! We still miss Heckyl, though- she was a treasure . . .

Penny, the sun conure, came to us from Jacksonville, FL. Hubby was on a business trip in Orlando, and I flew down, we drove up and picked her up, and she flew back in the plane with us!! She is just a little doll, and as bright as her color! Gives kisses readily, and loves to be stroked! How NEAT to have a sun conure show up on your fence! I can't imagine it!! Very COOL!

Chico came from the rescue we assist with. He is SUCH a character! I have just never seen such a bird, truly! VERY much Ken's bird, which hurt my feelings SO much at first, but when I see the love he has for hubby, how could I NOT love him?!! He is such a monkey! Quite the acrobat!!

I'm looking for some good pics of the lovebirds and budgies, but will get some pics up of Kato!

Again, thank you ALL! and this is a REALLY fun place to be! I hope I can do it justice by getting in here enough!!

HUGSTOALL!

Kim
