And thanks to all for the welcome! (and bless our Shirley; she hasn't figured out what a poseur I am. Yep! This is the galley cook typing away from his brick trailer in a huge sauna known as Philadelphia.
I will try to come up with a good photo to send shortly.
GREAT!!! we love pics!! Do try to survive in that brick trailer in that huge sauna in Philly! Oh my, it does not sound very comfortable.
I'll bet, you know how to make a good Philly Cheese Sandwitch!

Don't believe that brick trailer nonsense!!
He's in a gorgeous historic home with a beautiful parlor and a relaxing front porch with lovely plants and rooms with high ceilings and beautiful old windows that are tall with wavey glass of the olden days... and I'll bet his floors are the original hardwood...

There you go, it's brick planters!!! :D
well, when you think about it, all philly rowhouses, (be they a trinity in Fishtown, or a brownstone on Delancey Street), are alike in that light and air are somewhat limited. Pay no mind to the cleverly nuanced hype nor the semantic tricks of real-estate agents; Kitty Foyle lived in a row house, not a "townhome". But you're right , Miss Brooks (Shirley), all that deforestation of lands west of the Appalachians supplied the eastcoast cities with beautiful red heart-pine flooring!
His Brattitude Master Fred now has a small finch-like cage, 2' by 2' by 3', at the front window where he holds court for a few hours each day. That vain little cad has actually let some tail and wing feathers grow in! {Vain!?! "Fred's a pretty bird" is the first thing he says to anyone when being introduced} Seriously---it's true about natural or full-spectrum light. I've really seen the benefit for Fred.
And Jean, Fred is appx 7 yrs old.
And thanks to everyone else who has made me feel so welcome here. I hope to be more proficient with this web thing..............eventually.
It's good to have you join us!! Pics Please! Pics please! Pics Please! I haven't got to see your sweet " Pretty Bird Fred" yet!
