I found an online source that sells raw sunflower seeds without the shell. These are a special treat for my Sun Conure, Bailey. If anyone else would like the link it's

They sell most every kind of nut and seed as well as a good collection of dried fruit.

oooh I love to eat sunflower seeds too. I used to find it hard to find them - sometimes you can get them in health food shops with out the shell in little bags. yummy.

cool, thanks Vicki! I see they have shelled, is what I was looking for, but raw??? Can I still give them raw?? Or do I need to cook them in the oven???

Definitely give them raw, the seeds don't need to be cooked. Bailey loves raw sunflower seeds. I just find it a pain to shell them. I like to give them to him as treats. He'll break open the shells with his beak and likes to do that too. So, having both on hand is a good idea.
