Its freezing cold and wet AND the builder just rang me 7.30pm and asked if her could start our bathroom & En-suite renovations TOMORROW:doh: he can`t continue his present job (re-roofing a home ) because of the rain  ...Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I said NO , but Wednesday is o.k so looks like tomorrow I am moving everything from the B/Room and e/suite and of course I will have to clean it so its nice for the demolishing team to pull apart ..lol..(Joe says I`m crazy ...now I ask you ladies would you have your bathrooms removed by strangers if it wasn`t cleaned first ...???? ...:shrug2:
Lucky we have a spare room down stairs off the birds room Joe and I are moving in there so we won`t be in the way and I won`t have to be up and dressed by 7am on theses cold winters mornings....and there is a guests shower and Loo as well...
Looks like 3 to 4 weeks of MESS , but hey just thinking :scratchch on the up side its a good excuse NOT to clean up , up-stairs anyway ... :rotflmao:

Chat later Darrrrrrrrrlings.. :wavey: http://sc.groups.msn.com/themes/R9c/pby/img/emoticons/emrose.gif

Sounds like too much excitement for me. I like my nice, quiet place without the lovely sound of workers.

Sooo... what are the changes you're having made?

Majj, you have my sympathies,we've just had the bathroom done and it was like Beirut in my house.

AND YES I CLEANED IT BEFORE THEY DEMOLISHED IT!!!:roflmao2: :roflmao2:

Well it was outside in a skip for weeks, there's something kinda spooky about having your toilet and bath for all to see.:rotflmao:

Just a tip, I didn't clean up while they were doing it but the dust gets EVERYWHERE!!:agree: If I was doing it again I would clean up as the dust smell took centuries to go. They had to dig into a concrete floor and all our internal walls are brick so you can imagine the mess.
I will post some pics later as I think Barb was asking me:)

 Sue your really scaring me now....:shrug2:

I have just finished moving and covering the bed dresser etc with sheets ...Off to have my last shower in there then onto the ironing ..
Its pouring with rain , the boys are all excited we are doing something in the room near them (sticky beaks) the cat will also have to be shut off from the upstairs part of the house ..
I just printed a big sign to put on the door (end of hall from entrance) that leads to the kitchen/family room ..PLEASE KNOCK and WAIT ...
Birds may be in here and they BITE ..lol.
The builder knows about it I told him yesterday , so I hope he tells the workers about Sunny Bin Laden , there is a toilet on their side of the door under the stair case so they don`t need to come into our space unles they need ME...The birds will be locked up from 10 till 2pm as usual BUT the puss can`t go up stairs anyway so the door must remain shut ..
I bet Anita is glad she has gone ... :agree:
I will of course come up here into the office with my computer might need ear muffs the first few days...:help:

Its Pouring with rain hope its hitting the Dams and farmers ...

Best move plenty to do chat later... ... :wavey:

Naturally, I would spiffy my bathroom up before they came in to do the renovations.
I can understand your and Sue's train of thought!!! :rotflmao: I bet, some think we are weard!! :rotflmao: :roflmao2:

But, we'd know it was clean first!:roflmao2:

It will be tough with the removations going on, every time you get discouraged, just think of how nice it will look once they are finished. Then you can clean it for you! :)

I feel for you having to deal with the renovations but I'm sure they will be much enjoyed when completed. Personally if they are gonna destroy it.....why bother cleaning. I'm sure it isn't an embarrasment as you probably keep things in order. Just my 2 cents.
I have to say I enjoy you're expressions and terminology. Very discriptive and I find it quite humorous. Keep us posted on the progress and maybe a "piccy" or two...

We installed a new toilet last year. Steve teaches a construction class at the high school. He was all set to haul the old toilet to the shop class to teach them about plumbing and repair and such. It wasn't like filthy or anything, but I just about had a FIT!! I insisted he power scrub it inside and out and make it look like it had never even been installed before he took it to school!! Somehow, it just seemed really embarrassing that his kids were going to work on OUR toilet!!!

OMG Shirley, I know exactly where you're coming from, I hated the fact it was out in a skip in the street for all to see.

People do look in skips, our next door neighbour's boyfriend came and asked if he could have a guitar Dave had chucked in there:eek: It wasn't any good but I said he could take it:funny:

   You guys are way too funny...

Joe my hubby is such a whinger in the spare room we only have a Queen size bed (it was ours before we bought a KING size bed) he said Ohhhhhhhh!!! the bed is sooooooooooooooo small  ..right I said we only slept in it for 10years before we bought our new one ....I said pretend we are camping ..:rotflmao: :rotflmao: I bet he is fast asleep snoring his head off right now and I will have to roll him over when I go down to get in ..:shrug2: :funny: I wonder how he will survive and GUESS WHAT !!!!!! He is going off on a trip on Friday week so I`ll have the Small Queen size bed to myself...:woot: He is being punished because the builders were not going to start for a couple of weeks and HE planned on missing ALL the fun and leaving ME to cope so I am glad he is getting to see a little of the mess before he leave it all to me....Here are a couple of before piccys and I`ll sneek up and get the mess during then the after...
It will be very boring as the rooms are very small we have choosen a light beige floor to ceiling same colour to try to open it up..But we are getting electric towel rails to warm our towels and heated ceiling light and much more updated vanities this place is quite old and needs a face lift like me, just to have everything new will be wonderful...Well I am sleepy so will go move the old boy over and try to sleep...

I don't envy you. We need a new bathroom but actually I don't think it's a bad thing that is not at the top of our priority list right now!

Majj, I am sure your remodel will make an immense difference. I think, the towel bar heaters are going to absolutely spoil you. I have a friend in California, that has portable one in her bathroom. When we visit them it makes you feel very pampered. About 10 years ago I stayed in a hotel in San Diego that also had them.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww They also found a BIG DEAD RAT in dah roof <!--emo&:yikes:-->http://www.philsfeatheredfriends.com/board/style_emoticons/default/yikes.gif<!--endemo--> ...lucky we had baits put out when we did the roches ...GLAD it was DEAD too... :shrug2: <!--emo&--><!--endemo--> Yeah lucky its moving along fast hope it continues that way...
Not too bad this morning and I was making my own noise vacuuming downstairs anyway , the boys have been fine and stayed out longer this morning to help me clean , only had the bottom half of the house to do pointless doing anything up here till the blokes have gone ...They tell me 3 weeks we will see...when they built the office here and the garage underneath they said 3 to 4 months turned into about 9 or 10 I think it was not FUN I now consider them my extended family :rotflmao: <!--emo&:winking:--><!--endemo-->..but yes now worth it ..
The weather is terrible so wet and miserable I have fed the poor wild lorikeets twice this morning and will give them another feed this afternoon before dark they look so wet and cold huddling together on the verandah and the surounding trees watching us inside ..I made their Lorrikeet mix with warm water thismorning too thought it would warm them up a little...
The builders are framing up for sliding doors today so there won`t be much difference to look at , we are having sliding doors as the rooms are small and this will give us a bit more wall space ...
I had to do without power for 45min while they did something but thats o.k me and the boys kept ourselves busy...Its quite now they have knocked off on their lunch break ...QUITE ..The boys took a bath so they are in their cage in the warm room preening I`ll get them out again about 2pm when I have a cuppa and Yogurt....I like to share (they don`t give me much choice if I get them out lol):funny:
Well of the check the board if my computer stays comnnected I think the lines must be wet as I have been cut off 3 times and my running speed is SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW...

Have a good evening /Afternoon wherever you are...

It's good to hear the contracors are coming along in good speed. RAT  :help:
I am sure you are glad they were the ones to find the rat .We used to have one of those sliding doors from our kitchen to the entry, I loved it. If I could, I'd have them throught the house.

I can imagine the lorrikeets are ready for your good meals, especially in the cold wet weather.

Hopefully, this project will stays on schedule! :beerchug:

An electrical engineer friend of mine says that any time you open a wall, you find a surprise.

Hopefully a dead rat is as exciting as that gets. :O
