ok i just purchased my very first bourke with no knoledge at all about them that is not like me i like to research on all my new bird species but after the call i had no choice the bird needed a very loving home so i need info on there diet what fruit and veggies they like the recomended breeding age how to introduce a male oh yes and what behaviour will i expect from my female

I don't have Bourke's, but Shirley does and she has a website about them. I am sure she will have lots more info that will be really useful for you when she sees this, but I thought I'd give you the link and that way you can get started by reading bout them :D

Ours don't care much for fruit. They come from the dry savannahs of Australia, and are ground feeders there - grains, grasses, and such.

Ours eat Zupreem natural blend pellets along with some seed, and they love their veggies: corn, peas, greens, carrots.

Millet is their training treat - they love millet!

thankyou so much when i brought he home i no she was stressed out from the ride i gave her a sprig of millet and she loves to jump around in her new home she is in quaranteen till this time next month not just for my other 13 birds but for her as well
