We didn't get any more storms in the night. This morning is weird, the sky is kind of heavy grey with a yellowy tinge and kind of misty? very muggy and damp outside, looks like we're in for more showers.
I'mm supposed to be varnishing the new ferret hutch doors today but I'm concerned if I do then it will rain..
I have to buy my friend a wedding gift today and a birthday pressie for another friend who's over on the island staying with her mum and dad for the weekend, i'll see her tomorrow her birthday is tuesday.
I'm just debating on trying a cup of decaf tea with soya milk...........

hope everyone has a good day!

Kristie, careful with the soya milk if you haven't tried it already, It's disgusting in coffee, goes all curdled:(
I like it on it's own and the chocolate flavour is yummy.

I hope everyones having a good start to the weekend, we didn't get the storms either and it's cloudy and considerably cooler.

Good morning!

Thanks for the movie review Majj! Definitely one I'll want to rent! I like DeNiro movies... so does Steve.

Yes... very hot and sunny here.

Well, I FINALLY FINISHED editing one of four weddings late last night and will ship it out for approval this morning! (they've moved so can't come over to preview it) It doesn't normally take this long, but with May graduation work, and June travels, I really hit the wall! Now I hope I'm on a roll to catching up!

I leave today at 3:00 to film the next one... and will be very glad when it's over with. She's turned into a real Bridezilla as my partner put it ... maybe 'coz she's late 40's and .... well, we'll see and we'll do what we do best and she'll just have to relax and enjoy her wedding... and quit worrying....

Oh! And I don't know if I told you, but Kilroy's newest baby, hatched June 5th, is a NORMAL color Bourke's, not a Rosy. Her first normal! And a single, no siblings. The other two didn't hatch. One was "clear" and one didn't finish developing.

Troy's snake eggs are ALL doing very well! They've all firmed up with the incubator and moisture holding well!

His sad news... Chelsea hasn't been eating well like Fizgig.. ever since he got her... well, she passed away yesterday. He was very sad about that when he called me. Fizgig is doing very well, and never picked on Chelsea at all, but Chelsea just never ate well, molted only once since Feb, and finally moved on. For those of you who don't know who Chelsea is, you can learn about her
here (http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50562&highlight=Pink+Toe)

Now to find some coffee... Have a great day everyone!

Shirley, was Chelsea the one i had 'on" me when i was down there?
So sorry to hear of Troy's loss,,,:( ,,,,

Dogs taken care of, birds attended to, the wife is tucked into bed(short sleep, she has to get up in 6 hrs to return to work shhhhh) filled the bird baths around the house,,(not that i see any bird activity outside in this heat today,,)next is cutting the grass in the blueberry "patch" (642 bushes) and nip the wild blackberry vines that started up amoungst them,,,they REALLY hurt when mowin',,another by-product of our feathered friends,,seed disbursment,,LOL
might attempt some weed whackin' if i don't melt into a watery spot outside,,,
Hope everyone stays cool and safe today, if you are in the heat today,,,,;)

Good Morning Everyone!

It is supposed to reach the low 80's today which is not that warm here. The low humidity lowers even the hottest of temps. Possible thunderstorms later today.

I went to the party they had to recognize my graduation. It was so nice, good food, good conversation and a relaxing time. They had a cake for the celebration.

However, today I have to go to work to get things done since I am going to be away. Plus I have to finish that presentation I will be giving Monday afternoon.

Shirley...I am so sorry to hear of Chelsea's death. Please tell Troy of our sympathies.

I have to get going but I will log on at work.

No, you had Fizgig. He quit getting Chelsea out when she quit eating so well, and she was quite calm when he got her, then she got more agitated, so he didn't get her out anymore b/c it got her upset. Not aggressive, just upset. He has no idea what happened. He saw her eat maybe three or four crickets since Feb. :(

Thanks to you and Bill and others; I'll tell Troy.

I was looking at the National Weather Service and found we are in a hazardous weather area:

SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON AND LAST INTO THE EVENING OVER THE AREA. INCREASING MOISTURE AND COOL TEMPERATURES ALOFT WILL COMBINE TO PRODUCE VERY UNSTABLE AIR. THE MAIN THREAT FROM THESE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE GUSTY WINDS...WITH GUSTS OVER 60 MPH POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION...WE MAY SEE HAIL UP TO THE SIZE OF QUARTERS WITH THE STRONGEST OF STORMS. BRIEF HEAVY RAIN IS ALSO POSSIBLE.

I am going to have my car parked in the garage.

Good afternoon! :wavey: it is cloudy here today supposed to reach 76, with a chance of thunder showers tonight.

Bill, you be careful and stay in with your weather. Hopw it isn't as bad as expected.

Shirley, give Troy a big hug from me, and tell hoim I am sorry about his Chelsea. Bridezilla! :rotflmao:

Jeff, hope you have fun at the yard sales. I loveed to go to the all town ones when we lived in Missouri. They do not have them here. :( Try to keep from melting in that terrible heat.

Majj, that Robert DeNiro movie sounds like a good one. He's such a good actor. Thanks, for sharing.

Sue, Hope you have a nice weekend with less heat. You definately need a break.

Kristi, have fun shopping for your friends wedding and birthday gifts.

Wishing everyone a nice weekend. :wavey:

Thanks I am watching the weather regularly now. The Weather Service has upgraded our Hazardous Weather alert to a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. I am at work still and probably will be for most of the afternoon. UGH! But once I see the ominous clouds I am going home.

I are tired. :-6

I spent the day helping my folks haul rock around my rock garden. My shoulder does _not_ like me, but at least the chest cartilage (torn in a car wreck 3 years ago) isn't protesting. Ironically enough, neither is my hip or knee.

So... I'm pretty much wiped out. I'm going to fix a Cornish hen for supper with some yummy wild rice and mushrooms. Then I'm either going to watch MacGyver (on DVD) and work on quilts or I'll watch some nifty presentations on Exodus and work on beaded snowflakes or I might do something scary like ... write. :O

A teeny, weeny chicken. You cook it a bit like a turkey ... in miniature.

Well explained! They are also known as a "Cornish Game Hen" and are delicious
when baked with sage and other poultry spices!:beerchug:

My kids love 'em! they are about a lb or so each, and I get one per person, and do like Jean said.
They bake in about an hour or so.

Sounds good! I've not heard of them before. I bet they're called something else over here...
I like chicken & turkey, I only eat that and decent ham (that's not too salty)

I'm not too keen on pig, but I do have a bit now and again. I eat mostly fowl and seafood when I'm feeling carnivorous, but a nice chunk of cow isn't so bad from time to time.

Its not Quail is it ..(Cornish hen)..Joe and the boys (human boys) get Quail from the Chineses take away I couldn`t do it eat those teeny tiny little wings and legs .....no sir not me.....but they sure do enjoy them...

Sue

Majj I could never eat a quail, we used to have a pet one Quincy, we wet to buy an aviary and the quail was in it, it had been attacked by another bird and she didn't expect it to live. So we brought him home and nursed him to health, then one morning we found the aviary door open (only him in there) and he was gone:( We scoured the neighbourhood but didn't find him.

Kristie could the chicken be like a "pousin" is that the right word:confused: you know for a very small chicken, i'm sure it begins with P.

Shirley
06-27-2005, 10:54 AM
No, it's not quail. It's larger than quail.

http://www.encyclopedia.com/html/C/Cornishh.asp

It originated in Cornwall, England, but became popular in the US. It has been crossed with the Plymouth Rock Chicken from the US.

Recipe? lol um just like you would make it, but stuff it w/wildrice, and melt butter and add some lemon to taste, drizzle a little on your own plate. She may have put some on it while cooking, but I don't remember.

The mix between the cornish hen and wildrice w/that flavor is tasty :drool2:

great  now I'm craving it, hehehhe :agree:
