Ok, by request... Holly dropping pebbles in our little backyard pond... a sequence... and these are originally poster size and have been severely cropped and reduced low-res for quick load... and are available as wall prints...but there are much better rose and other flower pics than these...

Kerplop! She drops it into the water!

Now she takes a break to taste the flowers that have gone to seed!

After MANY rose photos... and poses... she decides to taste them... and decides they are downright DELICIOUS! There's no stopping her now! She sees a rose bush, she's GOING to eat the roses!!

Thanks, Jean! There are pebbles surrounding the large flat stones, and she delighted in taking pebbles and watching them drop into the water! Just like a kid! I was on the other end of the pond with a zoom lens.
She is definately a splended bird to see in pics!!!
She is the perfect little model. I love the pebble ones too:heart:

Thank you!
I don't do much with the yard... It's 7 yrs old now... I plant all the perrennial seeds I can find, and there's not much rhyme or reason... and they come up each year... whereever they choose! If I had my way, there's be little grass left to mow! But... there's plenty to mow now... and Steve and the boys mow it all. I put the pond in a year ago June.
Here's how I did it... all by myself. (http://shirleymorgan.com/misc/Pondweb/)
No one wanted a pond but me... too much work, they said... but it's very little maintenance! Our saltwater tanks are way more work than my pond! :D

You've made major cosmetic finishes since these were posted. The flagstone and plantings are beautiful.

All those flowers are wildflowers -- perennials... they just come up on their own! I love it!
I'll post a new overall pic. LOTS of frogs have found this tiny pond and made it their home. :greenguy::greenguy:
OMG I LOVE frogs:heart: We used to have them in the garden of the old house we lived in.

I'm afraid to take Sammie outside and put her in a tree or bush. How did you introduce your bird to the outdoors?

i think all roses are edible as long as they are not sprayed with foliar ferts or pestecides

I'm afraid to take Sammie outside and put her in a tree or bush. How did you introduce your bird to the outdoors?
First of all, make sure they are not flighted... even in a slight breeze.
Secondly, is your yard fenced? Can a dog or cat come around to attack or surprise the bird?
Then I just take them out and they love it. No getting used to it, we just go out. Mine don't climb the trees. Dr. Cook's moluccan Merlin decided to climb the tree! So before he got too high, we brought him back down and kept him with us, not in the tree.
Outside of the fenced yard, they are harnessed. That way, a surprise from a dog, a passing car, etc, and they can't flap to the ground.

I don't have the right atmosphere. Cats around and we have iron fencing, which doesn't keep out cats. I guess I'll just have to be happy with having her inside.

I have never taken my birds outside by myself as we do have my husbands cousins cats that live next door and spend alot of time outside, no problems with other dogs though as we do have fenced front and backyard, but I never take the birds outside except on weekends and on my day off when my husband is around we figure with two of us 4 eyes are a better look out than 2..lol that way I don't have to try and watch for dangers and the bird at the same time, it helps when there is two of you.
