..2 more fuzzies!
A Sandy and a Silver Hob, all the way in Coventry, (the Midlands - central England) which I can collect in a couple of weeks.:emot-danc
The lady is going to show me piccies soon. I'm sooo excited :D
woohoo
they've got to be neutered, then they need a couple of weeks to settle cos they're basically in season unfortunately (which means they will be smelly and boisterous) unwanted by their owners. There are so many homeless ferrets here that I'm happy to be able to offer them a home. :) people are too tight and stingy to pay for them to be neutered, then when they breed they get rid of hte kits cos they don't need them. horrid peeps.

My lot are struggling to keep cool in this heat, they've abandoned their hammocks and sleep sacks to lay on the newspaper because it's so hot. I'd give them a cold shower but they don't like getting wet much.

How do you all keep your furry animals - dogs and cats and rabbits and anything - cool in the heat?

ummmmm a/c? hehehehe:p

nah really, I've heard of people taking 2 liter bottles and filling almost all the way and freezing them, and sticking them in the cage w/your pets. It's their own a/c lol

That's wonderful, Kristie!

Keeping cool? Here people offer shade, as do you, and a "kiddie swimming pool" so the dog can go in at will... but I doubt ferrets would go in.

Mainly, shade, water to drink, and indoor A/C! :D

Can't wait to see pics!

Congrats!!! We have guinea pigs (5) but they are HOT, too, out in the screen porch. In the winter, they are indoors, but in summer, we put them on the porch in their cages . .. but I've worried a bit, too. We keep an eye on their water to be sure they always have some, and try to keep the porch fans going, although one of ours just went out and we will have to replace it!!

Good luck! I can't wait to see pictures, too!

Congrats Kristie! Don't know much about ferrets, we keep our Golden Retriever cut pretty short in the summer. Would let him run thru the sprinkler, but then he rolls in the grass (& mud), and that kind of defeats the whole purpose of the sprinkler (keeping cool & a shower at the same time). He mainly stays in the house in the A/C.
My brother has a LARGE plastic kiddie pool he keeps in his yard. He has 3 Goldens, and they periodically walk thru the pool, keeping their paws wet. They also go to the beach around 3 times a week to frolic in the surf (my brother & sister-in-law live "down the shore"). As for ferrets, maybe if you put some type of pool in their cage, they might try it by accident and like it? Good luck !! Anne
