I've always liked his ideas, but that's the first time I have seen him speak (even if it wasn't in person).

He's got the right idea about animal behavior and explains the fallacies, or "myths" of behavior really well.

Kinda' stuff I love to hear!:emot-danc Love how he talked about the dog smelling another dog, seeing squirrels... and we except them come to us when ask. Also love the part about saying down or sit and thinking the dog understands what to do. Then he touched on alpha dog, squirting, rolled up paper... Same stuff we talk about, and it's side effects, when using aversives on our birds.

I sure would enjoy that same talk where dog and natural dog behaviors was replaced with bird and natural bird behaviors. That would be awesome for the avian community!

I really liked the video Shirley. I really agree with him. It really reinforced to me that we have to remember, we can't expect dogs, birds, etc. to understand what we are saying to them without first showing and teaching them. How many times do we tell our birds do this and do that because we have become so familiar with them we just assume they must know what we are talking about. The bird is probably sitting over there going "WHAT"????:shrug: Then there is the "I did this before and it was fine, but why when I do it again, they seem to be upset??". :shrug: Good stuff.:)
