Here is a pic of Lucky our dobie relaxing in the family room. She passed away in 1988 and is still near and dear to our hearts.

She's beautiful, Jean!
I had a Doberman when I lived in Florida named Satin (not Satan, Satin, like the fabric) and she was absolutely wonderful in every way, and moved back home to Indiana with me. (1970's)
Thanks Kristy! that is so true. I never got enough pics of her. I am sorry I didn't.
Thanks Shirley! I agree, dobies can be wonderful pets. I love it if you can find a pic to share of Satin.
I am a camera freak always got heaps of piccy`s of the kids when they were little and of course of the critters now...waiting for Grandbabies to come along too ....nothing on the horizon so the critters are getting an overdose...
Loverly picture of your big boy ....Thanks for sharing Jean..

I have loads of pics of Satin... just not digital... someday I'll have to scan one. She wasn't as large as Lucky... she was 24" to the shoulder and about 64 lbs. She was eventually bred to a champion in Chicago and had 9 gorgeous pups!
Shirley, Lucky was a 90 LB female!! she was a big girl! Loaded with muscle!

awww Jean, guess I never realized you had a dobie  She looks very comfortable, lol
90 lbs? She looks like she could've been a bit more. My rottie (female) is around 115-120  I never realized she would grow so big, hehehe. She's a pretty meaty girl, and most everyone who first see's her, thinks she's a male :funny:
Guess those dobies are less in weight, because of their long legs :p
Shirley, would love to see a pic of Satin :D
Barb, I've seen pics of your beautiful rotty, she is definately a beautiful dog. They are a shorter leg cousin to dobies.
Lucky knew she was not allowed on the furniture but, every now and then we would leave and return quietly I would catch her all sprawled out like queen shieba! She was so good all around dog we could leave for a week vacation. leave the sliding glass door open a good foot. She was a great guard dog, she would never mess in the house and was sand box trained. She had a large sandbox in the backyard to go in. We had a neighbor that had a key to our house and we trained Lucky to know she had a key and could come when we were gone to feed, water and play with her. She was a superdog! It was very hard on all of us when she died of old age.

Oh, Jean! Bless her heart! HOW beautiful! I used to raise dobermans! I had a male named Artemis, and a female named Sally. VERY loving animals. I know you miss her.
We recently lost Heidi- don't know if you knew, but we had dreaded this day with our sweet little old schnauzer girl. She was in such bad shape for so long, but she would not give up, and I would not make her . . . She never complained and did not seem in actual pain, though we had a maintenance pain med we gave her . . . She passed away in the wee hours of June 10th, snuggled down in her little bed in our bedroom right where she wanted to be. We had come home to find she could no longer walk- she had been limping for a couple of weeks, but we think she had a stroke, and we bathed her and dried her and held her until bedtime, and then put her in her bed.
Only today did I work up enough . . . what? Guts? to finally call our vet and let them know that she was gone. Even then, I was crying by the time I got off the phone. I had had her for 14 years- she grew up with my kids. She was one of my best friends, so I know I will miss her for a long time, too, as you miss your girl.
