 it's 10.25 and about 18 degrees already. gonna be a hot one today
I'm taking Granny out to Amazon world, where they have recreated a little jungle and then a desert area which is new and haven't seen it finished. they got various tropical animals though not many parrots, and they do a falconry display (which is odd since you don't find falcons in the amazon!!)

I have to jet wash down the outside ferret run today as I had a little maggot problem - YUCK I was so worried but they hatch a few hours after being laid in this heat. I clean them out everyday religeously of course.

Hope everyone has a good day, hope you're gettin this weather sue..

Mornin All!:wavey:
Just sitting here at work, waiting for the last of my day shifts to end,,,tap, tap, tap, so far has been quiet here for the first two hrs. hope the rest will be also,,,altho a bz day tends to make the day go faster,,,
Been able to get covert access to internet here at work("borrowed" id/password from a guy none of us can ummm,,,,stand. ) it it only seems right to use his access,,,LOL
Glad to be able to check in here and on TRT while at work, been bz lately at home, and is tough to spend the time i want/need to spend here.
Prob will start on the bedroom re-do,will have to wait for my wife to come back from Indy on Monday b4 we can get dressers and the like outa the b-room, but i can do plenty of stuff until then.(start staining the maple 6 panel closet doors, and new trim,,,,) a lil work to do on the walls, then paint, install doors, new carpet, and finally the SleepNumber bed!:emot-danc
Gonna try to make this project go quickly, and problem free as possible,i hate projects that linger on forever,,,,

Weather has cooled off a bit,not that hot humid stuff we had in the past, actually was a lil on the nippy side withe wind last evening,,,
Mentally going thru my mind as what i need to do today,,,,and since i have only one off day tomorrow, need to budget my time as well as i can..

Hope everyone has a great day!:wavey:

Hey Jeff, you're back! I bet shift work is a bummer:(

Sue , Actually prefer shift work over straight days, been working for pretty much most of my 27 hrs here at this career,,can't stand the nine to five stuff,i get a lot more done around the house while working other than day shifts, and with my off days not being always on the same day, i can do things on my off days (weekdays at times) with out the long lines, and loads of people if i want to.And during the week i work midnite shift, i do not sleep , so it's sorta like a week off every three weeks to do things around the house. tend to get not as much as i like working day shift, and wake up watching the clock when i work afternoon shift.so midnite shift tends to be may fav work shift.
This week(and all the others)when i work days, tend to drag on forever, plus i get nothing done around the house,,,
I don't know how you folks that work "9 to5" handle it,,,,and with me working a hr from home, that makes for a long day also, rather get home at 7am from work , than 3 pm from days,,prob would not be able to handle a day shift that started later in the day,(9 to 5), get home at 6 pm,,no way, no how LOL.i'll put up with every third week waking up at 4 am to work days thank you LOL
Plus the fact that my wife (ER nurse) has pretty much worked midnite shift or close to it(7pm/7am, 11 pm/7 am) it works out fine( she's workedthis for 25 yrs +

Happy Saturday, all. :wavey:
Greg's off to play tennis and I'm home with Jack and Bailey. After Greg gets home we're going to go to the bird show here in town. It's only here one day, so want to get there and see all we can.

Kristie, enjoy your heat and cleaning out the ferret runs. Sounds like quite a job. :)

Sue, good morning. By the way, how is the bathroom? ;)

Hi Jeff. You've laid out quite the project schedule. I hope it all goes well for you and you whizz right through it. I know you're "aching" to crawl into that new bed of yours and try it out. :funny:

We're sunny and hot here. :Blueflowe

Kristie or Sue...what tempatures do you experience in England which are considered hot? I have experienced hot in Spain and Morroco but I did not while in Holland, France or Switzerland. Is it a humid hot? Our weather here has been the most odd this year. First it was cool, then hot, then cold, then warm, now cool and then it is supposed to be hot! Typically the temps in June or in the 70s and low 80s. August is our hottest month followed by July. None of this weather is anything like what I experienced in TX. I noticed that Dallas was supposed to have temps reaching up to 100 degrees F. It is 50 degrees here at almost 9AM.

I woke up not feeling as well and now I wish I could just go crawl back into bed. UGH! My father is burning out the stumps and one of them happens to be visible from Scooter's window. She was not too excited about it and so I had to shift the blinds for her. Poor girl!

I am going to do an assortment of things today...read some, write some and play some. I would prefer the relaxation stuff.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Good Morning!

Our weather today couldn't be more perfect!! Totally sunny, super blue sky, no humidity, cool but warm, had coffee outside on the swing with Michelle and Tucker and then Play-Doh joined us. Funny thing, Michelle and Play-Doh eventually waddled across the grass straight to the back door and wanted back inside! I didn't know they knew where the door was!

The flowers are blooming in force :emot-danc -- but I have to go to the bank, the PO, and edit like crazy today... so must ignore the camera and the board... :(
I will be reading... but probably not posting as much til I'm caught up...

:Blueflowe Here's a pic of Sunshine and Bluebell from yesterday... on the Climatis that climbs our birdfeeder... Which is your favorite and why? (I'm curious!) Thanks!

Bill, it's in the high 80's today, the sun did come out but I believe it's better where Kristie (South coast).
It was only a couple of weeks ago we were freezing.
We jsut son't get the seasons we should any more... should be winter Dec-Feb cold, snow, wetand foggy. Spring March -May warmer some sun. Summer, June-Aug, warm/hot sunny days. Autumn (Fall) Sept-Nov. Crisp cold sunny days.

That's how it should be but I have walked on a beach in North Yorkshire in a t shirt in Nov around 70 deg. Also one July we met some friends for a meal and both my friend and I turned up in polo necks and boot:roflmao2: I have known snow in April. I have been to Holland and France and the weather was like a good summer here but I believe the climate is much the same.

Its in the upper 80s with a lot of overcast. I hope it rains, as my new plantings need more water than I have been offering them.

I went with a friend to a stained glass shop this AM to explore having some work done on some of my windows. I am trying to configure a pattern that I like. He does the work, but being a lawyer, he has little time to offer on such a project.

I am going to Ft. Lauderdale for the evening with some friends. We are going to dinner and to people watch. I like to people watch.

We were going to take the boat out, but its simply too hot and humid for such a venture. There is also a big fishing tournament this weekend. the waterways will be congested with all of the activity. Maybe next weekend?

Good Afternoon! :wavey: I slept in this morning, I was physically drained yesterday from only a couple hours sleep the night before. It can be very stressful when a family member is showing signs of decliing health. Now, for the suny side of life. Our temp has reached 52 at 12:30 in the afternoon, expected to reach 55 today, tomorrow should be warmer. It looks like we are in for a few showers over the next few days.

Shirley, those pics are beautiful! I adore their names, Sunshine and Bluebell. The pretty background flowers are very appropriate.

Joe, it is a pleasure to have you join our daily greeting.:) I would put that boating weekend off too. There is always another weekend that isn't as busy. Hot humid temps and I have aproblem.

Bill, Iam sorrry youare not feeling good today. :tighthug: Maybe, you can fit a little relaxatio in somewhere today, even it iswhen you take your sweet little Scooter out for some cuddle time.

Vicki, enjoy your trip to the bird show! I hope you find the new cage you are looking for. :highfive:

Sue, it sounds like your sumer weather is finally creeping up on you. Your wearher in November reminds me of many winter trips to the beach in November when we lived in Southern California.

Jeff, it sounds like your schedule works right in with your wifes. Your pets never know exactly when you will de away at work or at home. They must be acclimated to it.

Barb, I beat you today, have a nice weekend with your family.

Sending hugs & happy wishes to all!
