Kiwi might be coming home!!!

If anyone remembers when i joined i had my eye on a surten Caique at PU. I was reading on kijiji and saw a caique for sale payment plans available. I contacted them and lo and behold its my kiwi!!! The caique that made me fall in love with parrots!!! Im going to go visit and talk with my boyfriend and see if i can somehow start doing payments to bring kiwi home!

and shes finally been DNA's so i know shes a girl and not a boy.

Well i talked to Al and he said it was alright to do the payment arrangement to bring Kiwi home! :wub: I love how understanding my man is. most men would balk at paying 2000$ for a bird(Even with a payment plan!!!) She is coming with her cage and toys and everything. I plan on changing her food though. shes eating a PU food mix that has papaya chunks in it. Im sure i can give her papayas in another way. Most likely ill give her a a zupreem mix or something of the sort with a seed mix and some mash and veggies etc etc. Im already planning on getting some things like a crawler for her to play on while outside her cage. Her cage has a playtop on it too wich is awsome :)

2000$ is regular price just for the bird from a breeder! At PU they were asking 2500 JUST for the bird.

But im getting her and her cage and toys. So im saving almost a thousand dollars if you think of it!

yep make sure to get that fresh fruit in the diet caiques require it a bit more than other birds thats for sure..

so your finally getting your caique to cool...caiques are a so much fun..

Yeah i cant wait to get Kiwi. I already have plans for a play area for her .You cant consider anything from the US market to the canadian. some things cost less here and more on your side and vice versa animal wise. Especially if you look at snakes and such.

$2000 Canadian is about $1900 american :)

yes caiques are usually not as expensive buying directly from a breeder as they would be in a store....


Camille it's funny most caiques I have met both white belly and black head are either named after fruit, or food as I was looking at kiwi's name and it dawned on me that alot of caiques are named after food or fruit lol....ours is mango..

yup thats what shold me when i contacted her about caiques after i fell head over heals in love with kiwi. She had said that poor kiwi no matter how friendly would never be sold because 2500 was an insane price. she said their usually 2000$ from a reputable breeder etc(The whole regular rant thing) and i had asked how much her black headed caiques were and she told me 1500$. If theres one thing i remember well its talks like that hahaha.

Dont know. Maybe you just mistook the prices? I know i didnt because I was dwelling on them for months trying to figure out how to come up with that kind of money plus money for a cage lol.

there the ones i had posted about before. charlie the lutino rescue and the new girl Isabelle(The female Pearle) their both doing great. charlie LOVES singing lol. im considering putting chiko in with them. they all seem to call to each other and theres more than enough room in the cage... but then sometimes i change my mind lol. Ill make a new threat with a pile of random photos
