Cecil is our (Dan's) beautiful Senegal. She (was supposed to be a /he/) was intended to be my first experience with a bonded parrot.

She had a bit of a hiccup-y start in life. She was born and raised in a hoarder's residence. While we did pay $350 ... I didn't see this as a purchase, it was more of a mercy attempt at springing her out of a really, filthy disease borne environment.

By the "breeder", I was told ... don't believe what you hear. You need to handle her several times a day ... it is required for "socialization". At that point, she was seed only, bound in a cage barely able to move--a simple bowl of water.

I did as taught. Yes ... you already got it. The first two weeks my hands and forearms were nuthin' but hamburger. (Could you blame her?? Hindsight).

At that time (sorry, after the fact, I began research to help the situation).

In the meantime ... Dan (who, when he married me, did not know it meant I came along with a Zoo :p) ... (still, he's laid back and game). Anyway, he approached Cecil ... and I promise you, I've never seen "Love At First Sight" until I saw them both lay eyes on each other.

Dan still left the taming/training to me. He had no qualms about entering her cage in the least (whereas, I'd be chewed up and spit out).

I have never, ever been exposed to the amount of trust Cecil has allowed Dan. He can do anything he wishes and she is right beside him. Upside down, sideways, you name it. She literally melts on her back in his palm.

Now as far as Dan ... he's a /dog/ man. He wasn't sure what to think! (As you might imagine). All things aside, Dan makes great effort to offer Cecil what she so deservably desires.

Their love for each other is so strong ... it renders me speechless.

I'm totally fine that Dan "stole" my parrot. Reasons are obvious, I'm sure! :wub:

It sounds like Cecil has Dan wrapped around her littl' toenail!
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I think we need to see a picture of the two "love birds" together!
:woot:

Gosh, that's the understatement of the century! Lemme give a try. My photos are disasterous. I'll find one and put up!

I'm (seriously, cannot be any more serious) ... these two are simply mad for each other.

Could I wish anything better for my Cecil??? Over time, she's stopped growling at me. We have an "on notice" friendship. Basically, that means she tells me what to do. I comply. (I don't even ask for a Cheeto!). :wub:
