Found this puppy outside, no one around, so I got her to come over and check tags. Called the number and I guess this person was out of town and someone was watching her for him. She must have gotten out of their fence.
Spunky little thing :D Looked a little thin, so I gave her some food and water.......here she is................

I'm waiting for this person to come by and pick her up. I'm wondering what kind of dog this is?? Shepherd? Shepherd mix??
He's a beautiful White German Shepherd pup. Thank goodness you found him and called. Here is a couple sites that tells about the breed.

that's what I was thinking.....white shepherd
I really kinda like that 'white'
The neighbors came to pick her up. She is a cutie, and enjoyed the pup while it lasted ;)
Look at this White Shepherd rescue in Cedar Lake Indiana. I am not sure how far it is from Shirley's or Jeff's.

How sweet. I never seen or heard of a white german shepherd before!
The only reason I knew about them was because I saw one about a year ago.

same here Kristie, guess I never realized shepherds were white also
I figured she looked like a shepherd, but the white threw me off, that's why I wondered if she was mixed, guess now I know.
And I have to add, I really really like the white, I always have liked shepherds, but she was just too cute!!
It would've been a toughie if she had no collar or owner to take her, hehehee

Poor little girl. She's probably confused that her parents are gone and she has a stranger taking care of her. If she got out once, she might do it again. Might want to keep an eye out. :)
Barb, what did her temporary care keepers say when they picked her up?

That she was indeed a white shepherd and must have gotten out of the fence, through a crack. Guess they didn't realize the will of a puppy behind a fence.
They were grateful.
I am glad, I hope they take better precautions. A puppy like that could get hit by a car or wander in the wrong yard where it could be attacked by a more mature watch dog.

yes, I know. I bet it was tough having the guy who intrusted his pup to, was enough to scare them and make them more aware.
I bet they had her staying in the back yard because they were at work, but very bad for a pup as they like to find an escape to look for someone to play with and not be alone.
I too have never seen or heard of a White Sheapherd .....very unusual ...cute puppy..
WOW! I've never seen a white sheppard before and thanx jean for the links. Amazing. I've never even heard of them here in Australia, they sound like they must be fairly common where you are.

Somehow i KNEW this would be Shepherd related LOL
Glad to see it all came out OK , with the proper person retreiving the dog,and that nothing happened to it,hope this got the watcher of this animal to take more care in it's overseeing,,
Jean, thanks for the link on the white Shepherds, and yes it is close to me, prob 25-30 miles away, close for me LOL
Never knew of the place myself, although i love ALL animals, the white shepherds are not allowed to be shown at AKC shows, white is considered to be a "fault" .And i am picky to what would be considered a good looking shepherd, too light/dark,big/small.etc.even tho i would love to have many more dogs around here, i'd even consider a white Shepherd LOL.
Altho other clubs i believe allow them to be shown,,,,
Shame on you posting that link Jean, you know i had to look at the whole site, and drool over the cuties there available for adoption,,,,shame shame shame LOL
I know if i showed my wife the site, and told her it was close, first thing outa her mouth would be: "NO!" "we don't need anymore dogs !" The last shepherd i "adopted" was a son of my cousin's K9 partner ,that was to be on a nearby town K9 unit, but the unit never came to be,,,so "Zeik" was a bother now to the officer, not a partner,,,just a "dog" ,which i quess he felt he did not need /want now, so i stepped in, and my wife at first said NO ,when i told her about his situation, and i walked away in a close to sniffly tears demeanor, and she came up behind me , and said, "I know what having a son of Dakota(cousin's K9 partner) would mean to you, go ahead, bring him home,",,,
I did, and am glad i did,,such a smart dog,(of course it's a SHEPHERD! LOL)
Sorry to hijack this thread,
Just glad everything turned out well, and consider yourself lucky to have a cool dog like a Shepherd even for a short time,,,;)

Jeff, 1st person I thought of is you, when I found her!! Really!!
I knew it looked like a shepherd, but didn't realize the 'white' breed. After reading Jeans links that gave more info, I realized that they were not widely accepted for show as you said. They are becoming more accepted which is good, because I think they are beautiful dogs!! I thought I loved the plain shepherds, but the white are really exceptional IMO.
So did consider myself lucky to get to play w/her for a bit, almost kinda hoping there was no owner :p so I could keep her, hehehehehe She was definately pup, that needed some training, as she liked to jump and jump n bite, so that would be the 1st thing I would work on, lol. She also barked at everything, lol
Yes, shame shame on Jean for showing a link so close to you, hehhehehe I even looked at it and was like............hmmmmmmm  I would have to visit if I lived near there, hehehe

Lucky for you to have found the pooch, Barb!! Funny, but my son's best friend has had a white sheppard since they were kids together, and his Grandmother has one, too! Very bright and smart dogs!
Hugs!
