my question is....my bourkes especially the male, sits at the entrance of the nest box, but does Not go in ,is it possible that he can't ? I have a perch in front of it, and there is a perch inside to land on :confused: and the female does the same!

This is normal. The male may never go in. Or he may. The female won't go in 'til she's ready, then she'll sit in there for a few days before she lays an egg.

Scotty - just an observation... I've noticed that you have quite a bit of "issues" with your birds, nesting, etc., and even an interloper red headed finch trying to steal Luv's affection. (Again... not fer nothing - - just-a-me observing)... so, a suggestion if I might??
I know wine, chocolate and candlelight are out of the question, but: lighting is important... soft, subtle, maybe some mood music.... Luther VanDross, ya know, something that further sets the mood... maybe you humming a few bars of 'Luv ma-e Tender... Luv ma'e True' (la-la-la)... maybe they would like some black light instead of soft light, or a lava lamp? Those set the mood...
(Ok, k, k... just a suggestion!):shrug2::nuts::nuts::nuts:
Ya never know... might do tha' trick! If not, go shopping!:thumbup::dance:
