This is Ginny's pet dove who adopted her family one year ago. She is not allowed inside the house, though she tries to come in frequently!

She lands on our heads when we go outside, she eats from Ginny's hand, and visits daily for attention and a good meal. She greets Ginny nearly each time she drives into the driveway! She is a bit shy with strangers, however.

She was not raised by Ginny -- she just showed up very tame.

She is beautiful! it is nice to hear about a wild bird that has taken up with a special human. They know who they can trust.

Thank you so much, for sharing the pic and story.

Cool!

Is that an Inca dove? No spots, so it can't be a mourning dove...

What a wonderful story, I would love that to happen here.
We have a family of blackbirds that come really close and take bread if we're eating outside but not on your hand.

I wonder if it's something about doves as when we were on holiday, we had some come to the patio for breakfast:agree: then one flew on the table!
