Here's a couple of pictures of Star after the earthquake. These are taken after I cleaned her up a bit.

Aww poor baby :(.

Looks like my moms tiel when he once had a bad night fright and broke his wing and a bunch of blood feathers. It was during a really bad thunder storm and it started to hail really bad.

Oh, I am so sorry that she had to go through that awful fright,:( I hope she forgets about it and never has to be scared and hurt like that again

We had another bad night a few days ago. But, she must be getting used to the earth quakes, because she's only had one more fright, and we've had more than one more quake. She's pretty much back to normal. Too bad, I was really enjoying giving her scritches. But, I would rather have her happy and healthy.
I'm having a hard time thinking of a name for the new boy. Nothing seems to suit him. He's a very mellow bird. Not the least bit tamed, though. I'm working on that. Oh, and he's a seed bird. I put some pellets in the cage and was offering some millet from my hand. He wasn't touching the pellets. So, now I have to convert him to pellets. How fun. Tame the bird, convert to pellets, quarenteen, introduce to Star and pray for love at first sight. Dang! I've got my work cut out for me!

See if he likes the Zupreem Natural Cockatiel Pellets. I know Sweety took to them at first sight (she'd been a seed bird before), and several other tiel owners I know have birds that LOVE the zupreem natural pellets!

I'd try removing his seed at night, and placing a bowl of pellets in for a few hours (1-2) in the morning, so that he's more inclined to try them. Obviously don't starve him, and give him some seed afterwards, mixed in with pellets. I know Sweety prefers her pellets to her seed now.

Your poor sweet Star. She looks so pitiful. I'm glad you are there for her now.
Please, keep us posted how she does after this trauma.

Your new one looks like he's doing great.

Oh, you know what? I just remembered I do have some of those pellets, Molly! Thanks, I'll try them today. Here's hoping. The little guy was grinding his beak yesterday, so I know he's happy now that I put seeds in there for him. Thanks to everybody for the concern for Star. She's really doing well. She's pretty much back to her old self. You know, when I try to sneak in a scritch, she does the harmonica thing to my hand. Oh, well, maybe someday she will let me.

Mary, my Tiels excepted the Roudy Bush right away.:)

Coco spit out roudybush and wouldn't even hardly taste it soaked in apple juice... I think that was because it was a "FREE" sample.... that girl is such a princess.... she WANTS me to have to buy her the most expensive food on the market.... she wants to see me wearing rags and unable to shop....:foot-tap:

Poor baby....all that blood sure shows up on her pretty white feathers. Hopefully she will heal well after all that.

Well, the new boy took the natural pellets, loves them, thanks for the suggestion, Molly!
Star is going to kind of limping along for quite a while. She just can't fly right, but she tries. :) It just takes more work to get to where she wants to go.
