View Full Version : Good Morning Sunny Wednesday !!!
Hi Everyone:wavey:
Hope you're all OK, I didn't get here yesterday as my boss was here all day . We covered loads of stuff my brain was scrambled by the end of the day, then I went to play squash. My boss took me out for lunch which was a nice change for me. It was a hot day so we sat in the pub garden.
I have a good feeling about the new job/company and now believe I made the right decision. I had one or two doubts early on!
Shirley glad you arrived safely, hope you enjoyed your sleep in. Have fun.
Another scorcher forecast today:emot-danc :emot-danc
:sunshines :sunshines :sunshines :sunshines Sending some English sun your way:woot:
Good Morning! It is raining here and it is 41 degrees this morning. It is forecast to reach the low 60s. I have lots of paperwork to do and my first client is not until 3PM. Tomorrow is a busy day as will be Friday trying to catch up on everything!
Scooter is ready for a new day as is her daddy! Hope everyone has a great day!

Last minute "excitement" before reaching Ginny's
Just before reaching Ginny's, we planned to stop at a gas station, wrap up the 5-wk old fledged baby bird in a shoebox which was already wrapped like a present with a big bow on top, wrap another present I had for her that had to be kept in the cooler with ice, and then continue on to her house. We stopped about 15 minutes from her house. It was really late - 12:30 a.m. Steve NEVER leaves his keys in the car, but this time he laid them on the console, told Troy to use them to get into the back of the van (you know where this is going, don't you!) and he went on inside to use the facilities. I was waking up. Troy finished waking up. He went inside. So, I checked the ignition, no keys, I locked the van and went inside to get my contacts in so I could see. That's when we learned the keys had been locked inside the van!
My purse, both cell phones, everything was inside the van! Locked tight. The only good news was it was dark and not blazing hot sun!
Nope, didn't have Ginny's phone number memorized. The station owner, a very friendly and helpful Egyptian fellow, lended us his portable phone for any number of calls, plus a coat hangar, which was useless on a newer van. We didn't have an 800 # for State Farm roadside, nor could we find one in his phone book. We called Ginny, and she contacted her RV Good Samaritan Club, and 90 minutes later she and they were there to "set us free"! No charge!
And, we managed to keep the baby bird a secret!! So, we wrapped him and the other surprise and followed her back to her house, arriving at 2:00 a.m., she got Mark up, and she was SO surprised when she opened up her baby bird present!!!
NOW....
Jean had advised me before the trip to bring the water spray bottle just in case the A/C malfunctioned, we could keep the birds cool. And we had two cell phones with all sorts of numbers. All that was sitting next to the cages -- locked in the van! My purse with ins. cards -- all in the van!
Never since I was probably under the age of 27, definitely prior to having children, have I locked my keys in the car and NOT had a spare key with me at the same time! Thank heavens this happen at night, or we'd probably have a broken window just to get the birds out of the heat!
OMG Shirley and I thought being locked out of a cottage was a problem!
Here our cars wont let you lock the drivers door from the outside unless you have a key, everything locks except the drivers door.
SO GLAD you had a happy ending and I bet Ginny was thrilled with the baby, have fun:dance:

Happy Wednesday, all. :wavey:
Sue, sounds like you've made a good career choice. I hope it continues to go well for you. :)
Shirley, Thank goodness it was in the evening and your birds were out of the sun. It's been a while (cross my fingers) since I locked myself out of my car and I hope it doesn't happen again. :(
Bill, did summer pass you completely by this year? Isn't it about time to snow again? :funny:
I've gotta do some errands today, but will get in a good afternoon write after I get back. I'm looking forward to seeing Shirley this weekend. Should be a good visit. :woot:
Good Morning! :wavey:
OMG Shirley, you did have a terrible mishap. What a stumbeling block to have at the end of a trip. You are correct, you were prepared for the unexpected, just not the ultiate unexpected. I am glad it was at night too.:grouphug2
Sue, I am glad all ois going well on your new job. :yougogirl .

We are having similar weather here except we only got a few scattered showers last night. Maybe June will be warmer! :highfive:
Vicki, Have a nice visit when you all get together over the weekend. It sounds like fun. :beerchug: Is she going to get to see Bailey?
Wishing all a good day! :)

Shirley, sounds like something that would happen to me! LOL glad things worked out, and right,,lucky it was not during the heat of day,(I'm sure it would have been a bother with the now garbage bag in use as a side window, cuz i 'm sure you woulda have busted out a window to protect the birds,,;) )
I have gotten in the habit lately to look at my keys,or feel them in my pocket b4 i shut the truck door, or close the back door of the house b4 leaving,,,i've come to that point in life i suppose,,,LOL

Hey everyone, my day didn't start off too good. I realized I lost the diamond out of my wedding ring. That ring was my mothers 1st wedding ring, and passed it on to me (actually Hubby when he proposed on my bday) but it definately had sentimental value considering I lost my mom 3yrs ago :bawling:
I have no idea exactly when I lost it. I'm thinking between last night and this am, but don't know. I've gotten on my hands and knees looking for it through-out my house, to no avail.
Even though it's material, it had alot of value to me :(
This happened about a half hour b4 hubby was to come home for lunch. I had called him very upset and told him what happened, he knew how I was feeling, and came home immediately. He's still here, called it a day, just to make me feel better  Thank heavens for my hubby who understands how I'm feeling right about now.....
Barb, Don't vaccuum for ages, you won't believe places I have found contact lenses. I lost a sapphire out of my engagement ring at a job interview and they said "we just vaccuumed" I knew I lost it there.
I know the sentimental value, I hope you find it:wub:
I'm sorry Barb, I know your sentimental feelings if that diamond. :tighthug: I lost a 1 ct diamond out of my wedding set about 15 yrs ago. Looked and looked and never found it. I had been gardening, washing laundry, and the car so no telling where I lost mine. I agree with Sue, :agree: don't vacume until you are sure then when you do check the cup or bag, each time you vacume, depending if yours is bagless or not. My friend lost hers when she was changing sheets on her bed. I guess a prong caught on one of the corners of the fitted sheat or matress. She found it later that day on the carpeting under her bed near the headboard, where she least expected to find it.
I hope you find it. :tighthug:
