Great pix! Thanx for sharing.
Thanks for the comp Jean:heart:
Shirley, this place is not that far as the crow flies but it took us 3 and a half hours there and nearly 6 back (horrendous traffic).
We can get to London in less time!
It's country roads with loads of speed camera's (do you have them there) and lots of speed limits and you're always getting stuck behind lorries and tractors.
Beautiful countryside and the friendliest of people but i'm not sure we would go again because of the location. We'll take you though if you want to go:emot-danc
Sue, we do have some speed cameras however, they are mostly found in some of our larger cities. We have to watch for the hidden Highway Patrol or State Trooper more as we travel our country backroads, major highways and freeways. It is amazing, all the years I've driven corvettes I never got a ticket in one. I have been ticketed twice for speeding years ago in a cadillac and in a 65 restored chevrolet corvair. LOL That is not bad considering some years I drove a good 40,000 miles a year in my employment.

Speed cameras aren't in Indiana yet... but they are in Germany! When I say they aren't in IN, I mean, they don't film you, then send you a ticket and call you in to court. There is still a real cop to issue the ticket. Yes, they do have speed traps and such with the "radar cameras" but a real cop pulls you over right away.
Such beautiful pics!!
There are a few Cities In southern California that have speed camers that take your pic if you speed in town. You find out when a ticket comes in the mail, not a good surprisse. I have a friend that got one about 6 years ago.
We can get both a ticket in the post and be stopped by a policeman, here.
The drummer in Dave's band was travelling home one night and he got a ticket 3 weeks later, Dave was behind him and doing the same speed but didn't get one! We watched the post for ages but got away with it. I've had 3 tickets in nearly 30 years of driving , so not bad:rotflmao:You don't have to go to court here , just pay up.
Luckily, I haven't had a ticket in almost 20 yrs. Not that I haven't exceeded the speed limit in that time... LOL I am a very good driver, definitely not a slow poke grandma style.... LOL

Sue they are wonderful pictures of our English countryside, but where were they taken?
Jeff has a wonderful little box called Road Angel that sits up on the dashboard, plugs into the ciggy lighter and warns you when you are approaching a speed camera. It gets information about all the speed cameras in the UK from satalites and feeds it into the box and it flashes out a red light and makes warning bleeps.
It also tells you about blackspots. We have saved pounds with it!!

Before I found out I was epileptic, I was following my Dad and we were going a little too fast. I got a ticket but he didn't, I wouldn't mind but as I was doing the same speed as he was I was a little miffed when I got a ticket. Think the policeman was having a day against women. LOL

Sue it was in Norfolk (Horning), weve never stayed there before and hired a riverside cottage but ehen we got there they hadn't left a key so we had to stay in a hotel, luckily the caretaker brought us the key the next morning and the owner refunded us for the hotel! From where we are Norfolk is such a pig to get to as there are no major road links.
