so i was making this video for a friend. i wanted to know what you guys thought before i went any farther with it. its just a little fun. and i show how to make a bird toy. im trying to make it the safest possible and idiot proof. and trying to put the most proper info in it as possible.

Great job! And Great initiative!!

OK -- you asked...

On the info page and any instructional pages: Keep your fonts very legible... avoid the script and use a sans serif manuscript style whenever possible.
Your large titling fonts are fine. :)

How about an intro title that doesn't state "Reptiles"? (You can have two companies...)

Audio:
Eventually you'll want to invest in an inexpensive wired lavalier mic and mic yourself straight into your camcorder - that will improve your audio tremendously (I use a UHF wireless system, but a wired lavalier will work just fine) Otherwise, you get camercorder motor noise and all the other noises in the room. Turn off all fans/heating/A-C/ventilation systems, and anything else making noise -- aquariums, refrigerator, TV, etc.

Light:
Lots of light = Much clearer video, less grain.

Turn your camera on and smile into it for a count of 10. Then start to speak. When done, do the same in reverse... stop, smile, count to 10, then turn your camera off. Always leave 10 seconds edit room at the beginning and ending of EVERY shot.

Dr. C will have some hilarious stories to tell of her times spent in what I believe she deemed as H--- in the film studio.... under my relentless perfectionism and direction...

Music:
Is that YOUR music? Never use copyrighted music (and just about all music is) without getting written permission first, and then give credit to the composer/musician/s.

Like photography, shoot lots of film and you'll come up with all sorts of ways to make it what you want it to be.

:goodjob:

thanks lol. Im just making this for a little fun and to show someone how easy it is to make their own bird toys(As long as they do the research). And i wanted to test out my stuff. I dont have a camcorder only a webcam and a mic. I eventually want to get a real camcorder. BEWARE if i really get one lol. youll be seeing a PILE of novice videos flying around lol.

Yeah I was just going through all the songs i had on my computer for something for an intro. Its by blackmores night(midievil music). I wounder if theres actually freeware stuff you can use for things like that(kinda like stock photos but with music)

I agree with Shirley 100%. You did a really nice job for being a non professional. If I were you, I would get a tripod for sure. But the idea you have is a good one. Toys are expensive and from looking at some of your other pictures, the toys you have in your 'tiels cage are cool and not expensive.

You have a really good imagination.

You go girl. Keep it up. Shirley and Dr. Cook can give you good advice.
