Today is the only day off for me, other than Memorial Day observances, we are goig to do a bit of shopping, new TV,and start looking around for new carpet and things for the bedroom,,,
Hope everyone has a great day!
Have a great Holiday Sue :emot-danc ..and all you guys in the States have a nice Memorial day..:woot:
Been busy today with work end of the month stuff is a pain , then the end of next month is our end of Financial year the Tax man will want all sorts of stuff so I`ll be busy for a while ...:shrug2: I hate it ..
At least I have a few hours to myself tomorrow (Tuesday) getting my hair done , the works and I will love it ..:agree:
Cold but sunny days happening here first day of winter on June the 1st , so got to expect theses cold nights I guess , have the electric blanket warming my side of the bed and Joe is warming the other side so I`ll hang about here for half an hour and should be nice and cosy to slip into ...
Have a wonderful day all..Nighty Night from Meeeeeeeeeee:wavey:

I'm off to either go paint or write a grant. Maybe both.
Have a great holiday Sue!
BN...have fun painting or writing.
I am going to make a few additions to my presentation handouts as well as make a Table of Contents for my dissertation. Then I am going to take it easy...reading, relaxing and later maybe playing Scrabble.
I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day. It is 48 degrees now and the temps are to be in the 70's. The rain clouds are still here so we might have a shower. It is weird having a day off besides weekends...or having to drive 755 miles to Fresno.
I work Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday, my parents and I will drive down to Fresno. My Dad and I will share the driving so it won't be too much. We will attend the graduation ceremony and reception on Friday but we plan on leaving in the afternoon so we can get as far as possible. Then we will be home earlier in the day on Saturday! YEAH!
Take care,
Shirley

Good morning~
Sue -- Have a wonderful, relaxing time!
Birdnerd... write a grant? You are ambitious!! Been years since I've attempted writing grants...
Majj -- I just give it all to the CPA guy and have to pay them to do it...
Bill -- :wavey: I was typing while you were sending! (edit) Maybe you could show us your ToC. We probably wouldn't understand most fo the body of your presentation. :school:
Troy and I are going to dig poppies at Stan's today last I heard from Stan...
and this was my conversation with Troy last night who slept all day after being awake all night Sat night, to get to sleep, because I was getting him up early
"I'm getting you up early to go dig poppies at Stan's tomorrow"
"What? We're digging up puppies at Stan's??"
"No! We're digging POPPIES! So get some sleep tonight!"
"Oh, We're making Opium??"
"Good night, Troy" (sigh)
So I told Stan by email, and this a.m. my email from Stan said this:
"No puppies will be opiated by dozy chemists at my place....but it sounds like we could put a dent in the mortgage....both of ours...."
For those of you who don't know who Stan is... he lives 10 minutes up the road from me, has an English-style garden instead of a yard, and the photos of his flowers are with my birds in the 'tiel and Poicephalus species forums. He offered me some POPPIES :agree: the other day! He is my photographer friend, and we work together when we can... I shoot video of weddings while he does the photography. Oh, and Troy is an organic chemist.
Have a good day!

Beautiful picture Shirley!
When I read your post...I was suddenly thinking of Lavern and Shirley! LOL! Only the characters were different...Lavern was off dancing somewhere and Shirley was left with Squiggy (being played by the organic chemist, Troy)! LOL! Sorry couldn't help myself...not that there is any likeness between Troy and Squiggy except the comment about digging puppies. HEHE!
I will post my ToC later this morning. Thanks Shirley!

Happy Monday, all. :wavey:
Sue, we'll miss you as well. Have a wonderful time on vacation. Enjoy for all of us. :)
Jeff, try and enjoy your shopping. Just stand aside and nod agreeably. :D
Majj, I always like the feeling I get when I go to the hairdresser's. They pamper me, and I'm all for that. :highfive:
BN, so what did you do, paint or write a grant? Maybe both? :foot-tap:
Bill, a little work on the dissertation then Scrabble. Sounds like a great day to me.
Shirley, have fun digging up those pupp..er, I mean poppies. Holly looks beautiful next to those red poppies.
We don't have any big plans for today. Greg's getting some extra programming time in so I'm on my own. Will work on getting my e-mail down to manageable proportions. Today is laundry day so will be kept busy with that.
I hope you all take a moment today and remember those who served our country and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
I got what I needed to do on my dissertation. Now for some lunch and then relaxation time with a good book! Then Scrabble. Thanks Vicki!
I don't have to have my ToC until the end of the week. I will post it then.

Hi all:wavey:
IT been nice today, although think some peeps have had heavy rain and thunder. this morning Trevor & I went clothes shoppping and amazingly, shop number one we got everything we needed!! Isn't it great when that happens? they'd only just opened and the shop was empty - bliss
trouble is, you then go past other shop and see something you like and then wish you'd waited and looked elsewhere! too late run out of money... I buy things when I see em cos other wise I go back and they're gone see.
I've lost 4 stone because of my illness, but I am now a size 10 which is great! (don't know what that is in US sizes) so I got a short skirt wooohooo :emot-danc and some trousers which fit properly.
Then in the afternoon I took granny for a drive and we stopped for an icecream and I got a pot of farm made Rhubarb & Ginger Jam which I look forward to on my toast!
Hello Monday - Memorial Day here in the US. We watched the parade this morning. We are invited to a BBQ with some friends this afternoon. Our weather is nice, currently 64 expected to reach 68 later this afternoon.
Bill, I'm thinking of you and hope yours is nice today too. Have fun and enjoy your little girl, a good book and that game of scrabble. :)
Sue, enjoy your day and and your vacation. We will miss you this week.
Kristi, woo hoo! enjoy that new weight and outfits. I have a good site for weight conversions, since I am bad at remembering them too.
http://www.gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/units/weight.htm
Vicki, it sounds like you are having a busy day today. Have you ever wondered how many loads of laundry we have done in our lifetime? I am sure that number would be astounding. http://photobucket.com/albums/v387/jeanaskins/Emoticons/th_emot-laundry.gif
Shirley, those poppies, especially the red ones are gorgeous!!!! Holly enhances them with her beauty.
Birdnerd, :foot-tap: decisions, decisions, wonder which one you chose, either one sounds time consuming.
Majj, You have a good night in your part of the world. No bad tax dreams allowed. It should soon be over.
Jeff, Have fun shopping. ditto what Vicki said! :agree:
Wishing everyone a nice day!

I wrote the grant ... well, most of it. There's still a piece or two of info I need to collect. Then I finished my Dad's Christmas stocking, sorted through my filing cabinet and junked a knee-high pile of papers, and worked on an afghan. Those last 3 things were done while watching some presentations by Chuck Missler. Interesting stuff. Much cleaning in the house today. Then tomorrow, I'm going to attack the great outdoors. Shorten some weeds, nuke the ones in the rock garden, and start getting ready to put rocks down in the rest of the rock garden.

You are doing good to be getting Christmas projects finished already. Is the afghan you are working on crocheted or knitted ? Once in a while I crochet an afghan, that is about all my crochet projects amount to. Three winters I made 8 of them for X mas and my friends house warming gift, that was way to many in a short period.

Spiffy! I don't crochet much any more. It hurts the hand after too many stitches, but I'm working on the afghan a little at a time. It'll be finished some day.
I usually start working on next year's Christmas presents when I finish this year's... usually along about December.
