I missed the moment yesterday with my camera. It would have been a picture worth a thousand words. But, I enjoyed watching on as things unfolded.
Zarah has been quite curious and interested with Mojo and his movements about his cage. I've watched her sit for long stretches letting her eyes (blind, though she is) follow him up and down, hither and to, as he plays his way through his days.
Yesterday, Mojo snatched up his almond and seemed to beckon to Zarah to meet him at the bottom of his cage. She responded as though they spoke the same language and obliged his "apparent" request. Mojo proceded to "appear" to offer the almond to Zarah! BUT, in a quick turn of events ... his offering turned into a ploy to lure her closer and closer until he could bite her on the nose!! (I was at the rough and ready to quickly slide my hand in to take the bite if necessary) ... Try as Mojo might, he could not open his beak wide enough to get a good hold of her nose ... the thing that had me laughing the hardest was that instead of effectively conveying to Zarah that the almond was his and the cage was his and that she was to take note of his territory and heed his warning ... his attempts at biting her were actually providing a tickling sensation on her nose! She would wiggle her little nose from each "tickle attempt" and go back for more! Much to Mojo's chagrin, he was unable to convey to Zarah that he was NOT playing with her! In his frustration, he tickled her more and more until Zarah got sleepy and lied down for another nap. :rotflmao: Frustrated, Mojo took his almond to his perch ... he's able to effectively keep the other three dogs in their place, but he failed in his attempt with Zarah.
