Just out of interest where do you citizens of the US go on holiday? I guess as the states are so big many of you don't leave the country. Most brits like to go to hot countries - spain, Southern France, Canaries, Caribbean, Turkey, Greece, Cyprus, or if they can afford to - Florida, Australia etc etc.
Where do you guys go on holiday, do you ever go to Europe, or hot countries?

I keep seeing an advert on the TV about Busch Gardens, and I always think of you and Greg, Vicki!!
Have you been there? I would assume you have.. is it like a massive theme park?

When the kids were younger, we used to get yearly passes. Now it's been probably 4 or 5 years since we've been. It's a huge park with some of the best roller coasters in the US and the world, probably. They just added a new one a few weeks ago that topped all records on , height, drop descent and speed. I used to love to ride the roller coasters, but can't anymore with my back. Not to mention the other umpteen other things they caution against.

Oooh no, wouldn't get me on one of those..! I prefer animal things - I hate the word 'zoo' makes me think of big cats in small cages, but rather 'animal parks'

Busch Gardens has lots of animals too. Big Safari theme. You can take rides / tours out among the animals, or you can do the walking thing and tour them that way. This is definitely an animal "park".. as the animals have huge habitats.

We take at least tree vacations a year. One is within my state, the second is to another state, and the third is somewhere in the Caribbean or another country. We are taking a 7 day cruise that includes stops in the Bahamas, Grand cayman, Mexico, and Key West in the Fall. We are traveling with two other couples on this cruise. It will be lots of fun!

Kristi, I have never been abroad. I have vacationed many places in the US. There is so much to see here. I have also vacationed in Mazatlan, Mexico City, and taken numerous trips into Mexico from Arizona and California. We have also vacationed in Vancouver,Canada.

I have been to the Bush Gardens in St Louis, Missouri, never the one in FL. I have been to Disneyland, Knot's Berry Farm, in so. CAlifornia, Sea World and other attractions in San Diego, California. We've enjoyed many other sights such a Hollywood Park, Hollywood, and most of the California quaint beach cities, the California Redwoods, We have also been to San Francisco and most of it's tourist attractions. We used to go on dinner cruises in the southern California harbor cruises and watch the Christmas boat parade, and the 4th of July fireworks on the ocean, both very beautiful colorful sites. We've enjoyed vacations at Santa Catalina Island and have cruised to San Clemente Island. We've been in many caverns and seen some of the beautiful water washed ones in many states. Taken the train ride to see the Grand Canyon. Made numerous trips to the beaches and mountain resorts, Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs for their mineral spas, dune buggy and boating for weekend get aways. :scratchch That is all I can think of immediately.

I've been there!! I LOVED going when we lived there!! Montu was the hottest roller coaster then, and I rode it until they closed in the end, that's when everyone starts going home, and its for the taking!! LOL, we stayed on over and over many times because no one was waiting in line!! I loved that coaster!! I loved going over the alligators thinking "oh no they are gonna reach my feet, hehehe" This is where I also got to hold 2 Macaws and my oldest (was 3 or 4 then) got to be picked to go on stage for the bird show there!! She got to have a bird come and land on her arm along w/a bunch of little ones on top of a hat they put on her (iI bet there was treats on top of that hat, lol) I need to dig up that pic, it was so cute. They were askiing for a child, and I'm over here waving like mad pointing to her, lol, you coulnd't tell I loved birds then, could ya? hehee

Never got to go to Sea World, which would be another fav to see, and Disney. Guess being young couples, we stayed near us and had very little means to do all the neat stuff, ahhhh young love, hehehe

Busch Gardens & Adventure Island were my most fav's!! Adventure Island is a neat water park near BG.

The farthest I've been was Denver, CO. Didn't get to do the ski stuff since we mainly went there to adopt my birds, lol

We mainly do stuff in state, now..but would looooove to go to the Virgin Islands or something like that...............someday ;)

We were on a cruise, so we spent one day at St. Thomas and one day at Torolla. I have lots of pix on a CD. We plan on going back to St. Thomas for a 3-4 trip. The Marriot has a great hotel on a peninsula.

Yes, that's right... don't get me started... it was the trip of a lifetime... backpacking with the boys... no hotels, ... I haven't had a day since that I haven't thought SOMETHING about it. I'll be back....

Depending on where you life in the states... the Smoky Mountains are popular, Florida is popular, Canada, state parks if you want to save $$ and stay "home", California, Colorado (mountains) gosh I'm leaving so many places out!

City or nature? Culture of experiences or what? New Orleans can be a dream for some and a nightmare for others. I lived there for awhile and Troy was born there.

New York -- countryside or city...

where would we stop?
