Hopefully I spelt that right... But last night I came home from work and Chris ran downstairs with a bird in either hand saying "DO THEY LOOK SICK OR ODD AT ALL TO YOU?"
They had apparently taken to climbing up our brick wall in our room and eating the cement mortar/grout in between each brick.
They seem fine today and were their usual FEED ME NOW OR I'LL BITE YOU, selves...
Should I have anything to worry about? I dont know if they ingested anything and neither did Chris, but you can definitely tell they were going to town on it and there's a slight crater in the wall now :shrug2:

I would bet they were just chewing it up, and not eating it.

It would be my guess, too, Lauren, that the little guys were just chewing and not ingesting. But, I can most definitely understand and relate to the alarm!
I hung the Abaca Rope Hammock and decked it out with a myriad of toys and sundry ... the first thing Cecil did was jimmy up the rope to the top of the ceiling and start her remodeling project (tearing out the popcorn on the ceiling!)!! Of course (being too short) I grabbed the ladder and got her down post haste, and put her on a 24-hour watch to make sure there would be no complications. I anticipated a 2am call to my avian veterinarian, but time came and went and she was just fine.
It was a bit unnerving though, as I know you too were panicked!
My guess too, Ollie used to scrape the mortar out of our old stone fireplace.
I'll agree with everyone. Most of the time, there are exceptions, our birds are pretty good about not eating something like that that isn't food. I know it can be a worry when we see them chewing on something we're not sure about.

Good advice all...I would check their droppings, Lauren. If anything looks odd, check in with their avian veterinarian, but I agree with everyone, they most likely were just chewing on it. I think Merlin has taken a few years off my life, with worrying about all the things he gets into!

Thanks so much everyone for your replies!!!
 I caught them in the act the other night too. They were swinging their boing towards the wall and trying to catch it in their beaks.. little bums.
They are doing perfectly fine.. in fact as I speak, Kirby has made a tunnel from the top of my laundry hamper... allllll the way down to the bottom of it. You can hear Skittles' little "Crick-et" chirps coming from somewhere in there. Little monsters....
I've had a few incidents where they have eaten things they shouldn't have :omy: (Fried onions, icecream, kool-aid... NO I did not intentionally feed those things to them. Kirby loves drinking from the same glass as me and I happend to leave my glass of kool-aid on the counter by his cage... WRONG THING TO DO!!!! :school: )
:thanx: :thanx: :thanx: :thanx:
