It's wonderful living with a cockatoo. In the past I have taken Elvie outside to show him his daddy was up there in heaven when he would call for him.

I took him out on the patio for a little while. We chatted with some neighbors as they walked by as they were walking their little dog. Then I let him perch on the bird house I painted as I enjoyed a cup of coffee. He was rather quite then all of a sudden he mentions "Daddy" not with a sad expression, then kept looking up in the sky. I looked, there wer no birds or planes, nothing in sight. That is when I grabbed my camera and took this picture. He's awesome! His expression is one of peace and wonder in place of worry. That made my day. :wub: :heart:

He's such a sweet bird, you both are lucky :thumbup:

Great pic, he does look peaceful ;)

Oh, well, it was worth it. What a beautiful picture:wub: . His beak is sooo shiny.

Thank you both!

His beak is shiny because I had recently finished blow drying him after his shower and he had not been preening before we went outside.

Jean that is wonderful - he does look so peaceful. :wub: You have really done a great job helping Elvie to cope with missing his Daddy.

Oh, Jean, Every single time I read about him I start crying. I'm so glad he's doing so well. He looks peaceful, but still a little sad.
