Tiki has some issues with his balls, He has balls that look like wiffle balls that he plays with every day, well lately he's been trying to put them in his food dish, but it takes a long time and he yells and argues with them, just wondering should I take them out or let him keep him self busy ?[he really gets mad at them and I don't know if it's good for him or not]
Poor little one, they might be heavy or awkward for him to navigate alone.
Can you attach them to his cage by hanging on a chain, leather, rope, so he can play with them and still reach his food dish with them if he wants to set them in it.
I have all sorts of balls hanging from Elvie's cage even though he has foot ones to play with.

Our birds love to "get mad at" their toys while trying to get them someplace -- it challenges their minds and keeps them busy, and they seem to really enjoy banging them around, admonishing them as they try to get them up from the floor, into small spaces, etc. It's kinda like those expensive bird puzzles you can buy, only free!
And I love Jean's idea of hanging them where he can still get them into his dish, but not drop them all the way to the cage floor!

Simon, our cockatiel is the same way. He has one of the toys with lots of pieces of small rope hanging on it. He will really sounds like he is telling it off sometimes. Yet when it is time to go to sleep, that is his favorite place to sleep - right under it.

Tiki has some issues with his balls,
I think Bob Barker could reccomend a solution for you.

Hi Scotty. Good to see you. Haven't seen you post in a while.
I'd let him have all the fun he wants with those wiflle ball things. My guys love a challenge and as Shirley said, it's good mental stimulation and great exercise. Getting mad or upset playing with a toy is fine.
Your title did make me wonder. I read it first when I got on the board.

They sure can slam bam toys when they want to. Every now and then Elvie will put a toy in one of his bowls, then a keeping a pinned eye on it as he walks to the other end of the perch, then makes a running dart for it, grabs it, then beats the heck out of it by banging it several times up and down on his perch as hard as he can. :rotflmao:He's showing his toy who is the chief of his cage. I'd sure hate to be that toy.

Chloe doesn't have any balls to play with. But if she did, I think I would do as my mother use to do.
I would discourage that type of behaviour. It will cause ... GARY !!!

Coco-zon and Sammy-tiel are firmly from the school of toys needing to be bashed around, taught a lesson now and then, and generally kept "in their place." Apparently, their toys are often roudy, arrogant, and just generally 'acting out', and what's a birdie to do if not (lovingly?) "correct" their toys into submission? Sammy first takes the verbal approach, but will use force if a tongue-lashing is ineffective, while Coco gives no verbal warnings. Also, when it is bed time, there's gonna be at least one toy in Coco's cage that's gonna catch some abuse cos she hates to go to sleep!!!:D

So you get online at the library, but not at home? That would explain your time lapses between posting on your threads ...
