Hi , someone is advertising a "parrot" in my local paper (a very rare occurence) and described it as "green, orange, yellow, and grey". It's £140 ($250) inc cage and delivery. It sounds like a Senegal??? anyone any idea? Strange they haven't put a species:confused: What do you think, they also mention it's starting to talk, sounds like not a parrot person to me, should I call?

I called;) It is a Senegal, it's the daughters parrot and she is moving to Spain. The person who agreed to look after it has let her down so they're selling it.
Can you believe it's in my village:agree: He said someone is going to look at it in half an hour and can I call back in 1 hour in case they don't turn up. I get the impression they know nothing about parrots and will sell to anyone.:(

Well... in short, the same thing happened here... I MUST get over to the Poicephalus forum and share pics and tell the story, but a very beautiful and happy Senegal found us -- and loves Michelle, our Red-belly!!! Who woulda ever thought??? AND two yrs ago, at a bird show, a Senegal was the first small parrot that Annie ever fell in love with! She held a baby Senegal for about 3 hrs while we wandered around trying to decide if we should bring Skyler home or not. Annie in the oval is from 2 yrs ago, with that little Sennie, and then Annie a week ago today with the newest member of our flock... and HE NEEDS A NAME PLEASE b/c can't call him "Gordy". He's two yrs old and loves Michelle and likewise! We took Michelle with us when we went to see him, after seeing him in the paper for 3 weeks straight...I write the full story in the right forum later with the link to all the He meets Michelle pics, which are pretty cool.

Awwwwww well I hope another will come along for you. It's so weird that its a rare occurence over there to see a bird in the paper and it's sucha problem over here with rescues and such. On a happy note it's good to see that not many birds over there need homes. I'm sure your lucky guy will come along.:D Leah

Thanks guys, yes it is rare to see birds in the local paper. My only concern was the man didn't seem bothered, he didn't ask me any questions, if I was rehoming I would ask a zillion questions:agree: :agree: Also if it was true the daughter move abroad, why couldn't they keep it:confused: it was part of the family.

Shirley, I didn't see this til today but i'll be sure to show Dave:thanx: for sharing they are adorable!
