My wife and me are owned by Tango, a 11 year old male Moluccan Cockatoo. We researched a companion bird for several months and decided on a Goffin Cockatoo. Tango was in the other cage and he looked me in the eye and said "Hello". The rest is an 11 year love (most of the time) relationship.

Tango shares our house and and also rules a Blue Merle Aussie, Samoyed and a calico. Tango is King and no one is even thinking of a Coup.

He can whistle the "1812 Overture", Rhapsody In Blue, and the first couple of bars to "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" from the Wizard of Oz. My 3 kids half jokingly say that Tango ran them out of the house.

Unfortunately, Tango also does a perfect imitation of the smoke alarm.

Everyone is welcome to our board but there is a special place for Cockatoo people. 'too's are extra special and so are the people that love them.

More Pictures. We love pictures.

AND you live in the Promise Land. Oregon. Moses was up on Mt. Hood when he looked down at Oregon and proclaimed it The Promise Land.

True story. Well, probably a true story. No one can prove that it isn't a true story

Thanks everyone for a warm welcome.

Gary, I agree with you that Oregon is the promised land. But, did they have to promise so much rain.

Here is a 2 minute video of Tango's better moments (http://digitalcollege.org/video/moluccan2.wmv)

This is the same video (http://blip.tv/file/410690) in a flash format

And, one of the few times below that he actually posed for me.

Mia Culpa I used to be just a legend in my own mind but now I'm recognized as Tango's ownee:emot-danc

A quick funny store about Tango's reputation. When I'm not cleaning Tango's cage I'm a Sales Rep. for LG Consumer Electronics. I demonstrate the USB Media Host for the HDTV's using some of Tango's better moments. I'm in Bend, Or. and I can hear one of the sales associates at Sears yell from the cash register "Did you bring anymore pix of Tango. This is one of his better ones.

Cool!
I have an LG DVD dual layer RW on my video editor
LG cell phone
LG portable speakers for my iPod -- they fit in my purse for showing movie demos to prospective clients
I think that's about it...

Dr. Cook is right. We are as rabidly loyal to our Cockatoo's as they are to us.

Your M2 is stunning, just standing there, looking so regal. I wouldn't trade my Princess for anything but I sure would take an M2 if I could find a nice one that needed a home.

My boss had an 8 year old that was the first in the house. Then he and his wife had too kids and the bird would not put up with those kids, so he had to make a choice. The bird went. I didn't know enough about large birds to take him so he went to a rescue over in Lakeland. A year later, his wife and two kids went to her mother over in Orlando. He tried to get the bird back but someone had adopted him. No bird and only see's his kids on the weekends. That sucks. Oh yeah... and no wife...

Your pictures are just beautiful.

Maybe we can get Dr. Cook to put another picture of her Merlin on here. He is magnificent also. AND there is Toto over the big pond. We have some gorgeous Moluccan's on this board.

You look in any Cockatoo's eyes and you see the soul of a loving, loyal, caring companion. I know other parrot lovers say the same thing, but we know who is the smartest, prettiest and most loyal.
