View Full Version : Bill, I did it!
I had some free-time in my schedule yesterday afternoon. I went and purchased Tiger. I installed it twice. The first installation was a breeze. I took around twenty minutes to install and to get to the desktop. It saved everything! After dealing with Windows upgrades, this is simply amazing. I backed everything up and erased and installed a crispy clean OS. This gave me around 7 more Gigs on my drive, which means it will be quicker. I will play with all of the new gadgets this weekend.
I keep wishing that I made the move to Apple a long time ago. I have had no problems with this system: no crashes, freezes, conflicts, or headaches!
Good to hear Joe! I am so happy with Tiger! It is so much faster and has so many more "amenities." I am considering an external HD too but will have to wait until the flow of moola is better! LOL!
I just read about the PC's Sober worm, which is supposed to be running rampant. I hope all the PC users I know are protected.
I have not had any crashes with my Apples in the almost 3 years I have been using them.
I love OS X Tiger much more than Windows XP.
I was able to spend some time on Tiger today, in between my errands. My battery life has been increased from approximately 4 1/2 hours to 5 1/2 hours. Tiger's energy saver options are more tweakable; thus, it has more battery friendly options. I also bought Doom 3. It runs smooth, even with a G4 chip. The same game brought my old Gateway system to a standstill, and it had more DRAM and VRAM! I have not explored the widgets too much, but I do like what I have seen so far. I also loaded an EarthLink program that lets run run a news reader of all of the RSS that I collect. Its a cool option for their customers.
Sounds great Joe! I have not had time for any of my games but will do so in June. Glad to hear of your successes with Tiger!
