Poor boys and Poor Me...
We had the kitchen treated for little german cockroch`s this morning:eek: ..little horrible things I asked the pest control man where they would have come from and he said maybe a box or carton brought in from a warehouse or store etc just need two and they really breed fast ..they get into your electrical appliances and can cause them to blow up.. YIKES !!! he said we didn`t have many he has seen places with a plague like amount..(didn`t make me feel any better)..They also so said the birds cat wouldn`t be affected BUT I am being careful and have brought the birds to the office all day and the fans are blowing , doors open windows open downstairs its FREEZING ....He did not do a really extensive SPRAY with a stronger stuff as he said he didn`t think it was needed , he is coming back in two weeks if the little buggers still are about I will have to board the birds at the vets for a week (he said 3 or 4 days) as it will kill them ..Hopefully whatever he did today will work ...
Anyway the birds are NOT HAPPY ..I leave them caged while I am out of the office and you would think they were being murdered :funny: ..so I have come back in here most of the time and caught up on work , replied to emails and sorted my files and piccy`s..so at least they are out of their prison ..

Here they are ...in there home for the day...:wavey:

It sounds like you have been busy. Those nasty little critters can get in a sack of potatoes and start before you know it. At least you are on top of it. :) I know the fids are not going to like staying at the vet's, they are going to miss their mom when your pest control man returns. To bad you don't have a friend or relative that you could stay with and take them.

Awww, I love the pic of you and your baby cuddled in mama's shirt.

PS: I used the electronic plug ins and never have seen even an ant in the house in years. They are safe with birds, cats dogs, Not safe around pet rodents or pet spiders. Their sound waves annoy the rest and drive them away.

What're these thingies?

I purchased my first one from QVC about 6 or 7 years ago. It was a super one. It would take care of ground floor (or) about 1,200 sq ft home. For larger or 2 story you needed two. It cost about $45.00 to $50.00.

I saw one the other day made by First Alert at Wal-Mart. It did not cover as much an area. Maybe an average room and it was close to $9.00. I would imagine they are readily available at Sam's clubs, and the larger hardware stores.

They are terrific!

Jean I`ll look into that ...I am hoping the creepy`s have been eradicated with the first less harmful treatment as there wasn`t too many , the pest man will come back and check next week if they are gone the heavier treatment won`t need to be done ...
Yuk !! yes they freak me out also ..Theses are special cockroaches really really small not like the normal ones (which we have not had here touch wood.. )these are called German ones so I guess they immigrated here (LOL) they get into your appliances and breed in the warmth I had never seen or heard of them before so they really freaked me out ..
I am glad to have the guy put rodant baits under the house and in our ceiling though as even though we have had no problems with mice inside I have seen the odd one out near the wild bird feeders , I guess its natural where there are birds seed you will get mice and I don`t want them to venture inside so had that treatment done 5 years ago with the same company and will get it done in another 5 years just to make sure we have no problems inside ..I hope we never ever get the cockroach `es again though little buggers ...
The birds were happy to come back down stairs again at 5pm the rooms had lost the smell and I was frozen didn`t take long to warm up and get snug again the boys settled into their big cages with dinner and we just had left over chicken & vegie soup then spag. Bol....nice and easy dinner for Friday night ...

Got a lot of bird cooking and freezing to do tomorrow ...brown rice & veggies and their Sweet Potato Puffs ..I`ll have the camera handy as the boys get so excited and want to eat everything as I am doing it especially the mashed sweet potato and bannana , little piggies...

I hope you guys have a great Friday I don`t want to relive mine again , glad it done and over ....those creepy crawlies gave me the creeps....
Nighty Night all I am sleepy....

Get some white powder boric acid and use a plastic throw-away spoon... line it along the cracks and around the door jambs and pipes and such -- kitchen and bathroom plumbing... works like a charm. Very cheap, too. They sell it cheap as boric acid or more expensive as "Roach Proof" and the ingredients are "boric acid". Good luck!
