We went to the breeder's yesterday. One of her friends is taking the other bird. I have favored the larger of the two. All of my pics are pretty much of me always holding "him". We believe that he is a boy and the smaller one is a girl. The breeders friend really wants the small one, he wants a girl. I was so excited because i was bonded more to the larger one anyhow so this works out great. The larger one has a bigger, boxier head and seems to be more outgoing and has more personality.

I named him Rocco (hopefully he turns out to be a boy lol) We will find out in a few more weeks but he sure does look like a he :funny: Here a couple pics i took yesterday

You're killing me! I love macaws and babies... well... they steal my heart.

He's way too cute. You're not all giddy are you? I know I'd be.:p

He looks good, Tina. Alert, healthy, good feather condition. They also use their wings to balance at that age.;) That's good, builds those muscles.

Sammy did that with his wings all the time for balance when he was young. :)

Thanks guys. I named him Rocco because when Macaws puff up there head feathers they look like little rock stars :funny:.

I am excited and nervous all at the same time. He will be coming home in about 6 weeks

You better not get him a guitar when he grows up unless you want him famous. You never know he might live up to his name. :funny:

You don't have anything to worry about. You'll make a great macaw mom.:tighthug:

Hi Tina!! I must say you have a beautiful baby there

I'm smitten, lol. Reminds me of Liberty growing up. It was such an amazing time watching him grow from the start. I love telling the kids all about how he grew, and sharing those pics I took each week.

Rocco, will be the most wonderful experience, let me tell you. I absolutely love my Greys, but I can tell you having & raising a BGM, is totally different in lots of ways. He's my little snuggle bug, he is really bonded to me, but does really well in our home. I'm so glad I left him flighted from the beginning, it was so neat to see him start to hop, then fly, then be able to fly around our house with so much percision as he does today. He loves our time when we "go fly his wings" he will fly back and forth to me, sometimes circling about a couple times before landing on my arm or shoulder.

He is very gentle with me and understands when I tell him to "be gentle", he respects me and I respect him. They are such smart, playful birds. I know you will have a blast!!

Update pics when you can, I would love to see

Take care

I think B&G's make wonderful family birds and fly....Oh yes they can fly. Even in the house they fly with percision like we walk around in the house and enjoy doing it.

Absolutely, I'm smittem with BG's. They have so much personality, and love to be animated. I'm not saying I don't adore my Greys, they are fun to interact in a different way, but having a snuggle bug, sure satisfies me, lol. I never really understood how your boys could fly around the house, until Liberty started flying. Even more amazing is to watch them fly in a large area like a gym. Our first experience was in the skating rink, as they had a pre-school on the other side. I walked him around the area so he would know where he was going. His first time he did wipe out into the wall, nothing really serious, but enough to say..."will you learn to not fly into walls, lol" He's very good with recall, wanting to be close to mama sure helps. When he does take off to fly, I always recall with "Come back to mama" to give some sort of direction back to me. To send him off, I just motion my other arm out, and tell him to "go fly".

They are absolutely amazing wonderful birds. And yes, if I ever got another bird, hands down it would be another BGM!! ((Did I actually say that??)) roflol :p
