Sammie loves eggs. I give her some about once every two weeks. Her pupils dilate like crazy.

She loves grapes, carrots, lima beans, string beans and pizza! Sometimes blueberries but her taste changes with them.

Her absolute favorite is pomagranites (sp). Messy and seasonal but does she ever chow down! :emot-danc

Both my Greys looooove eggs, expecially Sinbad, that boy will raid whatever Akeela leaves behind, hehehe

Both Greys seem to also favor veggies over fruit, but Sinbad loves banannas and doesn't really care for apples, and vise versa for Akeela. I think grapes are always a hit, but since that chillian grape scare, I've kinda stayed away from them.

When Sinbad was at the rescue, she told me he didn't care for sweetpotatoes, he came here and eats my mash and loves it  Both are nutz over that. He will also eat the bean mash too, but Akeela would rather have the swt. potato. Corn is another fav. And birdie bread......well, that's a given, lol!

I think for the most part, Sinbad will eat almost anything, hehehe, and Akeela is so good about eating well too, don't really have too much finicky problems here.

Sammie likes apples too but she does the strangest things to them. She "kills" the apple pieces. Puffs up like a bowling ball and jumps on it. She also drowns it in her water dish. After she's killed it, she eats it. She doesn't do this with any other food. I asked her Vet what this was about and he said he didn't have a clue. Like people, they have different things they do.

Holly enjoys all of the above... avoid Chilean grapes... after the pesticide scare... I won't touch them. The pesticide was inside the grapes and killed several parrots at a rescue... very tragic.

Pomegranates are a big messy seasonal favorite here, too!

Eggs - scrambled with a touch of cheese, on occasion, are another favorite... but not too much... I watch their droppings as an indicator on quantity...

sprouts and veggies are daily breakfast fare... we no longer feed pellets.

Goldenfeast Hookbill legume daily

lo-fat cooked Meats and other natural foods, no salt, no preservatives or colors...

roflol, that's funny :D

They all have different personalities, and is so cute to see them being themselves ;)

Greys, hands down, are my fav, next to the Too and Macaw, hehehe

I just love hearing that "mmmmmm, is that good" talk from Akeela, she knows when dinner is comin  and Sinbad paces his cage until it's ready.

Holly's cage is behind where I sit at the dinner table... she makes quiet puppy noises and lays on her back across her large dinner bowl, grabbing the cage bar with one foot, looking totally bizarre...! all stretched out on her back with her head dangling downward looking at me upside down, and every now and then saying hello b/c she knows I'll say hello back to her and eventually turn around and hand her something new to eat! :) :rotflmao:

Since I've been owned by Sammie :rotflmao: I've said, "Yummy for your tummy" when I feed her. She has never repeated it , not once. She just says, "oooowww." She's her own bird I guess.

And I always say "Yummies!" all excited... and they just get excited. Holly in a dignified way, and Skyler (RB2) in a downright pacing back and forth overt way!

I'm coming to your house... Yum!

Yes, ours all love brown rice, couscous, and such, too. They haven't had the wide variety of fresh fruit, and usually turn it down...

That is better for them to like veges more then fruit. I try to limit Elvie's fruit to a small amount because of the natural sugars in them.
Can't say it's because it could rot his teeth. :roflmao2: :roflmao2:

Mine don't get fruit all the time either I try to offer two different fruits with their veggies twice a week..blueberries are always a fave and so is mango and papaya which these two actually have vitamins in them that are good for birds..and blueberries are very good for them.

Do your Greys sling food that they don't like? Sammie lets me know in no uncertain terms when she doesn't like something. She has an attitude. Wonder where she got that? All my pets have my personality.:shrug2:

If Akeela don't like it, she leaves it alone, lol

Sinbad I dont' think has too many issues 'not' liking something, hehehe, but he does fling to get off his beak......does that count? lol

The people who check me out at the grocery store always remark how healthy I eat. It's for the bird, not me!

I think your birds eat better than me! Quite a menu you've got there.

All species will sling food if they are extremely particular about their dislikes. That is more a personal issue with each bird. My little slob will sling some foods he doesn't like. He wants them far away from hi dish. LOL

Ours used to sling food... rarely anymore do they sling food. It's not replaced... somehow, they've realized I guess that if they sling it, that's it 'til next feeding. Now if they drop it on the floor of their cage, I don't care.

Sammie knows the dog will eat anything she slings out of the cage.

My dog always has sticky gunk on the back of her neck from Sammie dropping grapes on her.:rotflmao: And the dog is on a diet (I have to have to only overweight Italian Greyhound in the world!) so this extra food Sammie is feeding her isn't helping the diet plan one bit!
