View Full Version : Good Morning Thursday!
Hi Everyone,
Hope your all OK today, I woke up with a sore throat and a cold:( We have been eating dust here for days with the bathroom, its driving me  .
I thought the dust was making me feel bad as my eyes hurt and I was sneezing a lot but it's definately a cold.
I really need a holiday, with all the stress of Dave's job, then mine and all the upheaval at home I just need to chill out somewhere.
We're looking for something the week before I start the new job.:foot-tap:Nice and :sunshines here today but apparently it's not going to last til the weekend. I'm not too bothered cos we'll be cleaning up the mountains of dust:eek: and the bathroom man has arranged for the skip (do you call them that in the US?) to be here til Monday so we are clearing out the garage too... Oh joy!!!:roflmao2:

Sorry you're sick Sue. Hope you feel better soon. The last two days here in New Hampshire were HOT. Today, i woke up to 50 degrees at 5:15am. It's 8am now, down to 42, the wind is howling and our lake looks more like the ocean. Where did summer go??

Does sound like you need a hol Sue, stress can make you get colds and stuff.
it's not very warm at all...
I'm going to Coventry on Sunday to a Ferret show..hoping the weather holds for that, as although it's indoors, it's nice to be able to go outside too - makes more room for everyone!
I'm quite excited, because my mob phone contract ends today, and I rang up for an upgrade, knowing I wanted the Nokia 7610. I knew they'd quote me a silly price, (it's £99 on the website for me to upgrade, they said £49 on the phone) so I asked how I could leave Orange and keep my number.. they transferred me to the 'leaving' dept, and then I got a woman saying she might be able to do me a deal - then I got transferred to another lady who said would I stay with Orange if they gave me the phone for free! cool eh! just shows you doesn't it. some people would just hand the money over!
I won't be around tomorrow..got hospital appointment and have to get a blood test done up there too... might get on tomorrow nite though... see how I feel. Don't like blood tests much..

Good morning!
A ferret show sounds like lots of fun! Never been to one, and never heard of one over here!
A "skip" must be one of those huge long rectagular trash containers... no, we don't call them that here. I can't remember what we call them -- some kind of huge dumpster.
It rained really hard with hail... now it's partly sunny and much cooler.
Trevor didn't want to work at the grocery store AGAIN (would be his 3rd summer) so he applied at the new Quality Inn hotel in town, and they hired him on the spot! They asked him to stay for training right then, which he did, then he came home, ate dinner, returned for another 4 hrs work, then home for 3 hrs to sleep, then back from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. to train for the night audit part, back home to sleep, and then he calls them today at noon to learn his schedule. He'll be a front desk receptionist... check-in, check-out, and night auditing when he works night shifts, and whatever else front desk duties include. It's $2 more per hr than the grocery store pays, too! He's happy. :emot-danc

Happy Thursday from our little home.. Bailey and Jack say 'hello'. :wavey:
Sue, with all that you have going on, it's no wonder you're feeling sick. That can happen with all the stress and strife in your life. Kristie is right, stress can make you sick.
Kristie, have fun at the ferret show.
Shirley, congrats to Trevor.
I had to run and take some DVD's back to Blockbuster before they were late and finally got to pick up my prescriptions from Walgreens. Long story, I won't bore you with all the details. :foot-tap:
Beautiful sunshine :sunshinesand no hint of rain so far. So sorry for those of you who are under the clouds and rain. Unless you need the rain, then YAY! :emot-danc

Woo Hoo! Tell Trevor I'm sure he will make a good night audit clerk. :goodjob: That position requires a better qualified person then someone that holds a standard day time desk clerk position. They are required to handle guest services and complaints with 99.9% satisfaction in the manager or GM absence unless it is a large enough property to require a night supervisor on duty. The audit procedures are pretty basic from property to property. He will learn about the electronic keys, and guest privacy protection, financial data and how important the ADR and occupancy % is.
Sue, I am sorry you feel so bad, :tighthug: I hope it is over soon. I finally kicked my viral infection which was accompanied by a bad cold and sore throat.
Marie, you are still getting some pretty cool days. It's cloudy and 61% here
it's supposed to reach around 65 later today.
Majj, enjoy your book and have a good nights sleep. Is this a natural rainy season for you down under?
Kristi, Hope all goes well with your blood work. Have a good time at the ferret show. Are you just going for fun or to get another ferret?
Vicki, enjoy that beautiful sunshine for all of us that are still under the cloudy skies.
Wishing you all a lovely Thursday. :)
