Beautiful Gidget, 11/07/03, may she be finally free of pain.
We lost our little Gidget today. Her wings were so bad from either being beaten or chased they had sores all over them. We were just getting so we could get near her without her flipping out and bouncing all over the cage, every time she did this she would open up a wound. Today she opened one up and we tried everything to stop the bleeding then took her to the vet, she only lived about 2 hours after it was opened.
Someone did something to this poor little girl, that made her so afraid of people.
She was only here a few months but we loved her so much and wanted her to be happy and well. She seemed very happy watching the other birds play and talking back and forth to them. Today she was even out exploring for awhile this was only the 3rd time she had come out of her cage and her last. The thing that is keeping me going is knowing that she is not in pain anymore, and she will be happy.
I need people to know that some cruel unfeeling person did this to her, and that this is what can happen when the wrong people are allowed to have birds or any animal in there lives without understanding that they hold a life in their hands.
This was is last picture of Gidget, taken this morning while she was exploring. Her tail was even starting to grow in.
I'll miss her so much
