Aren't Gouldians everywhere? They are quite plentiful around here... around $75/ea from breeders and at the shows.

I have never seen any in the local pet stores up here. I have heard people mentioned who keep some, but they were usually bought in boston or something, or mail orderd from out of state.

The pet stores around here tend to charge $125-200 for them...

Zeebies, as mentioned in ice-bear's sig line (a handful of zeebies) are Zebra Finches. People often have several of them, and they are small and very inexpensive, unless you have special color morphs of them.

They are beautiful, look like they've just had a fresh coat of paint. The colours are so vibrant.

Shirley, do you breed Lady Gouldians? I have considered it in the past, but they seem like such a difficult species to raise.

I no longer have Gouldians... success was great to zero, and I sold them all to a good friend who is very very successful breeding finches and canaries. He only keeps small birds, plus two of my female Bourke's. I love Goulds, but won't try keeping them again.
