Can someone help me with this?

I have two yellow electric Cichlids (sp?) in my tank. I have had them for almost 10 yrs now and one is not doing very well. I noticed a while back he seems to be blind in one eye (white film covering eye) he also runs into things in the tank.
I have noticed today his one eye is really bulging and he is just hanging around in one corner of the tank at the bottom. He did swim half way up when I fed them...but he didn't eat.
This doesn't look good to me...can someone tell me what may be going on?

And... I had a similar condition like this in a couple fish. One, it went away over time. The other, it quit bulging so much, the fish lived a long time afterward, then died of, I think, something else. But... they were both saltwater fish...

That is called popeye. you can buy medication for that at your local pet store.

Thanks for the info everyone. Will go out tomorrow and see if I can find the medication.

Yes, popeye is what my trigger supposedly had... and how I'd put the medication on without medicating the entire 125-gal tank was the problem... and I heard that sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and the condition will just "go away"...
