I have a sweet baby cockatoo named Scooter! She is my treasure! She is a smaller Medium sulphur crested than some that I have seen. She does talk and say quite a few phrases; however, she has not talked as much as Kandy, my late goffin. Scooter reacted tragically to Kandy's death in 2003 and has not been herself since then. When I get my own place I am likely to get another bird so that Scooter has a companion at home with her. She is a very loving baby girl! She has never bit me. She is a wild child from time to time but for the most part she is quiet! Yes, I did say quiet...one word you typically don't see in the same sentence as cockatoo! LOL!

I have cared for birds for the majority of my life, including parakeets, tiels, quaker parakeet, canaries and toos. I did a lot of research before getting the toos. I have a deep love for the birdies! I would love to have more! I love watching finches, listening to canaries sing as well as the personalities of the parrots. I would like to have an aquarium too.

I am working on my doctorate in clinical psychology and I have about three months before I will be finished and graduate with my PhD. I am having some difficulty with the treatment providers who I need to obtain the data from...hopefully this will be worked out in the next week. UGH! I am probably going to have to reduce the number of my study, which will affect the generalizability of my study. Pooh!

Typically, I am an easy going man with a thirst for knowledge. I enjoy reading, playing scrabble, chess and cards. I love Apple computers and researching multiple topics from Apples (HEHE) to Zebras (more HEHE). I have a lot of interests. I am single and I am not really looking for anyone to enter my life right now. I enjoy people and chatting with others but enjoy a quiet night by myself too. Some people might describe me as a social butterfly while others might say I am just plain weird. LOL!

I hope you all enjoy this new site with all of the wonderful amenities here on this board, which was the reason we moved. Thank you for coming and sharing your love for the birdies as well as sharing your lives with us. We are a family here and hope you feel at home with us. So pull up a comfortable chair, get your favorite beverage and enjoy chatting with the rest of us.

Hugs,

Jean
