I am looking to rescue a bird. There is someone locally who has a 5 month old quaker she want to get rid of? What kinds of challenges are there to raising a quaker? Anything that makes them harder or easier than other species?
Thank you

Quakers are an amazing little bird, Keedis was my Quaker and he was my very first parrot!!
Besides noise, i think they are perfect, they do tend to be one person birds, I know keedis definately was, he screamed every time I left the room, everytime I was out of site, he was very playful, and he could talk quite a bit, he was loveable but not overly cuddly!!
they are a large parrot in a small body, can be nippy at times and their beak can do some damage, also they can become feather pickers
Keedis was commical and smart smart smart,,he used to feed our dog,,haha, he would stand on the edge of his gym, throw food on the floor, wait for the dog, dog would clean it up, keedis would laugh, and do it all over again!!! he was a character to say the least
One of our memebers Kristie aka Islandzoo also has a Quaker , she would probably have lots of input !!

Thanks for the input. I think (hope) that getting this young of a bird that it will be easier to start him off with good habits and maybe he will turn into a great bird!!
