Ok well, I thought it was interesting. LOL

I feed doves in my backyard and a few months ago one of them got snatched in my yard by a hawk. Of course I was soooo upset and tried to save it but he just flew away with him.:( Then I had to realize that it was nature and now I'm able to look at things a little bit differently.

Anyway this morning I heard all these birds screaming and I look over to see and a hawk was being chased, divebombed and attacked by about 20 crows. I did see something in its claws as it flew by and i think he got one of the babies.:( I've got to tell you though those were some ticked off crows. They bombarded chased and attacked that hawk for as long as I could see. I've never seen anything like that before. As sad as it is, I found it quite fascinating.

It surely would of been a sight to see, even knowing how sad a flock loss is. That goes to show you the flocks love for their own like humans do. Protecting your loved ones is a natural instinct we share with birds and other animals.

Yup, and a sideline to that story, don't know what kind of birds they are, but i see smaller birds, chasing crows alot around here,,,goes after them big time,,
kinda makes you want to cheer for the "lil" guys,,,,

LOL yeah it does doesn't it? Always root for the underdog.:)

I remember a few months ago my mom asked me (because I just can't shut up about birds LOL even though I know I bore them to death:funny: ) "If birds are so emotional then why don't they care what happens to their babies?"
After what I witnessed today and seeing how brave they were and willing to put themselves in danger I'd say they care immensely(sp). It was amazing to see them all work together as a flock.

I've seen dove and blackbirds gang up together to chase off magpies who came too close to their nests.:emot-danc
