This morning I was doing some ironing and Bucc was a real pain doing things he's never done before, trying to land on the iron  flying at me and trying to bite, and screaming as soon as I sit down he stops it all. I'm just thinking I would pop him in his cage while I finish off, but then think that maybe for some reason he was feeling left out, Why today and no other day:confused: Anyway I stop the ironing, turn off iron and put it out of the way I go and sit down, Bucc goes quiet so I call him over to me, he comes and perches on the arm of the chair but will not come onto my lap, very strange. Then a few mins after sitting down and Bucc being on the chair I have the worse epileptic fit I've had in a couple of years.

Apparently he was sitting on the arm of the chair and screaming like he's never screamed before, Jemma comes down and moves some things out of the way and makes sure that I come round. :funny: This is the very first time I've hurt myself, a small bang on the head, it could have been worse if I'd had the iron in my hand.

It seems as if he was trying to tell me that I shouldn't be ironing, as soon as I stopped and sat down he was a bit calmer and to think I was going to put him in his cage, He is going to be spoilt rotten today I can tell ya. He really is my little hero

All is well now, he is quiet and happy and loving all the attention that he's getting, I'm sure he knows he has done something really good.

I should say that there is no damage done really and the bump on the head is only small. It could so easily have been a lot worse.

I'm glad you are alright. And Bucc deserves all the love and attention he wants. Lots of treats, kisses, out of cage time, etc.

That is absolutely amazing. He could sense that something wasn't right and he did NOT want you to have that hot iron in your hand.

He is truly a hero. What an amazing guy.

Let's hear it for BUCC.. HIP HIP HURRAY !!! HIP HIP HURRAY!!! HIP HIP HURRAY !!!

Wow -- there are dogs who are trained to let their masters know when an epileptic fit is coming on... they can sense it in advance. I wonder if Bucc somehow sensed this in advance?? You ought to find the site for the discussion (scientific) of dogs and epilepsy in their humans and post about this... maybe ask some questions...

And I'm so glad you are OK! :tighthug:

OMG Peta, I'm so glad you are OK:heart:

Give Bucc a great big kiss from me:wub:
I was going to say the same as Shirley, it could have been that he sensed something, I have read about dogs who can detect cancers, i seem to remember a dog that kept touching the same spot on a womans body and she had cancer in that place.

Thanks Guys, and I'm fine.

I was wondering the same thing, could he sense it? It was just so strange that he kept flying to the iron, which he knows is not a nice thing, he has always before stayed away, maybe the nearest he was on the arm of the chair talking to me, he doesn't even come onto the ironing board.

He has been spoilt rotten today thats for sure, and I think he is just plum wore out now, as he has gone into his cage and just said "Bucc night, The door isn't shut so he'll be back out in a little while for some extra special supper, chicken and carrot cake.

I love my little hero.

WOW Peta, you are lucky that Bucc was there! Happy to hear that your ok, how scarey! Its amazing how animals can sense things. I have also seen the show were dogs can smell the cancer spots on people. My dog knows when im sad or mad, or just irritated. I dont treat her any differently, but she just knows. She for some odd reason knows when im leaving and going to take her with me. I dont say a word to her that shes also going but she knows. Your body must give out some kind of signal or vibe that animals can sense and pick up on when your about to have an attack. Amazing!

WAY TO GO BUCC! :goodjob:

Wow Peta, what a story of your ordeal (if i can call it that) and how Bucc sensed your situation,,and reacted like he did,,,He needs a medal pinned to his cage for what he did!:agree: (think i wants a millet or other goodies he likes, to have that accolade made of LOL;) )

It's amazing what he did,,,never thought of a bird/parrot to be intune to things like that, thought that was only set aside for canines. But i quess a lot of our animal friends can step up and be our lil caretakers.

Like my cousin (the dog trainer) says:
"You have to be in tune with your dog, and "read" him/her, you will be surprised of what they sense and know about us, of how we think and are thinking and feeling, little indications are missed so often, when they can be used for the positive". I quess that holds true for other animals than dogs,,,,,:agree:
Give Bucc a scritch and a kiss from all of us here:thanx:

WOW! I'm glad you are alright. :tighthug:

It could be that Bucc sensed something wrong. I agree, it may be beneficial to note your experience to specialist that study epilepsy/animal sensitivity and warnings.

When Elvie was younger I noticed he would become extremely hyper/clingy shortly before a larger earthquake would hit or during sizable aftershocks when we lived in CA.

Thanks all. My seizures are only mild, and I'm so used to them I don't usually think anything of it, As long as I remember to take my tablets I'm usually fine, In the 20 years I've been having them this little bump on the head is the worse injury I've ever had, this evening even the bump has gone.

Jess has once given me a warning, but never again. This is the first time that Bucc has ever warned me. He had his nap earlier and is now sitting in my lap with me, having our cuddles his head tucked under his wing, but he's watching everything I do. :funny:

Shirley, those links are really interesting, I've heard about seizure dogs, they are amazing, it must be such a comfort for someone who has really bad seizures. Thanks for those.

I'll have a look round for the site and ask some questions, even if he never does this again, it would be interesting to know what they make of it. I'll let you know what happens

Thank you Jean.

Thanks Stacy, I certainly think so.

But then I think he's a little hero even when he's been a real little stinker. :funny: Love him anyway.

:emot-danc Peta we all know stories of animals that have raised animals that are there enemys.I don't think us humans give the animals the credit they deserve.Bucc knew you were in danger and thats that.you are very lucky he was there ,you could have had a nasty burn are worse.BRAVO for Bucc:wavey: I am glad that you were not hurt, and if there is a
next time heed his screeming, take a break and let him run the show for a little while.
